Reviews

  • Antonina from Voronezh. For a long time I was looking for a large-fruited, productive variety of pink tomatoes. A neighbor at the dacha recommended the Malinovka tomato and gave me seeds that she collected herself. I planted the plants in the garden at the end of May. In the last third of July the first tomato ripened. Its weight was more than 200 g. I really liked the taste and aroma. Now this is one of my favorite varieties.
  • Victor from Shebekino. I can only give positive feedback about the described tomato. It grows without any problems, bears fruit well, and is disease resistant. Grown in a greenhouse and in a garden bed. I am very pleased with the harvest.

The Malinovka tomato is one of those varieties that “linger” for a long time in the gardens of amateurs. But it should be borne in mind that the quality and quantity of fruits directly depends on proper care.

Characteristics

The Malinovka variety was bred by Russian breeders in the 21st century. “Malinovka” tomatoes were included in the State Register of the Russian Federation for cultivation in open ground on private farms located in the southern regions of the country.

In other areas, tomatoes can be grown in greenhouses. These tomatoes are quite common in Moldova and Ukraine. Tomatoes of this type can be used for fresh consumption and whole-fruit canning. About five kilograms of crop are harvested from one square meter of planting .

You can compare the yield of this variety with others in the table below:

How to plant tomatoes correctly?

The time of planting a crop depends on many factors - climate zone, weather conditions, planting location. You can rely on the lunar calendar or folk signs. For example, there is a belief that tomatoes should be planted in a greenhouse when the mountain ash begins to bloom. You can grow Malinovka tomato with seedlings or seeds. Seedlings are prepared in advance or purchased. If seeds are used, they are simply germinated and treated with growth stimulants before planting.

If tomato seedlings have stretched out too much, they need to be fertilized with a growth-controlling preparation, for example “Athlete”. A total of 4 treatments are done before the seedlings are planted in a permanent place. The first treatment is done with a solution of 10 liters of water and 1 Atleta ampoule. The next 3 treatments are carried out at intervals of 3-4 days with a solution of 5 liters of water per ampoule of solution. After the last treatment, it is recommended to harden the seedlings for 6 days and only then begin planting the Robin in a permanent place.

Important!

When tomatoes are grown in a greenhouse, it is worth making sure that they have the “right” neighbors. Early cabbage, onions, basil, and lettuce get along well next to the crop. If you need to plant tomatoes and cucumbers in one greenhouse, they are planted at opposite ends, separated by film or several rows of other crops.

A sunny location is selected for planting. The type of soil does not matter much, the main thing is that it is not acidic (if so, you can add lime). Plant the Malinovka tomato at a distance of 40 cm from each other. Row spacing is 50 cm. You can plant thicker, but the main thing is that there are no more than 7 plants per square meter.

Advantages and disadvantages

The above varieties of tomatoes are characterized by the following advantages:

  • friendly ripening of fruits;
  • resistance to cracking and disease;
  • high transportability and good keeping quality of fruits;
  • wonderful taste and commercial qualities of tomatoes;
  • versatility in the use of fruits.

This type of tomato does not have any significant disadvantages.

Features of cultivation

This variety is characterized by the presence of simple inflorescences, which are sometimes of an intermediate type. There are no joints on the stalks. The main feature of this tomato variety is the uniform ripening of the fruits. There should be no more than seven to nine plants per square meter of land. The distance between bushes should be 50 centimeters, and between rows - 40 centimeters.

The main measures for caring for Malinovka tomatoes are regular watering, loosening and weeding, as well as the application of mineral fertilizers . These tomatoes are harvested from July 25 to September 10.

Caring for tomatoes allows you to get a large harvest. The more painstaking the care, the higher the yield, and this is true. Therefore, you should not waste time on weeding, watering, loosening and many other procedures.

Photo of feeding tomatoes

  • Watering is carried out with warm, sun-heated water (but not hot) in the evening or morning. Tomato variety Malinovka is usually watered at the root - you can also install a drip system. The frequency of watering depends on the weather, but on average once every 2-4 days.
  • Weeding and loosening the soil are done every day or every 2-3 days. The earth should not become crusty! During weeding, all weeds are uprooted and burned outside the site or thrown into the compost heap (if there are no seeds on them).
  • If the summer is dry and hot, the leaves of the Malinovka tomato may begin to curl into a tube during the day and unwind at night. To help the plant survive such weather, it is worth mulching the beds so that the soil does not dry out, ventilate the greenhouses well, and if the crop is grown in open ground, organize a canopy from the sun for the day.
  • Fertilizers can be used organic or mineral. In the latter case, gardeners recommend Isabion, a biological fertilizer of animal origin. They feed the Malinovka tomato only 2 times per season - 1 time 5 days after planting the seedlings, and 2 times during the period of fruit formation. For one hundred square meters of plantings, prepare a solution of 20 ml of the drug and 5 liters of water.

Important!

Fertilizers are important for tomatoes, but if they are applied without measure, they will be of little use. So, from an excess of manganese, the leaves of the plant become “chewed”, crumpled, and this can be very dangerous for the crop!

  • When tomatoes lack nutrients, this can be seen by their appearance. If the leaves become smaller and purple veins appear, you need to feed them with complex mineral fertilizers. When the leaves turn brown or pale, add potassium and wood ash.

The harvest begins to ripen on July 25. But these are approximate dates, because depending on the weather and some other factors they may change. Fruiting is extended. The last fruits are harvested in mid-September. The use of the crop is universal. The Malinovka tomato variety is good fresh, for making juice, dressings, sauces, first and second courses, as well as whole canning.

Diseases and pests

“Robin” tomatoes are resistant to blossom end rot and tobacco mosaic virus, and appropriate fungicidal preparations will help protect them from other diseases. Pest attacks can be prevented by treating plants with insecticidal preparations.
