Tomato Lyubasha F1: characteristics and description of the variety, reviews, photos, yield

Description of tomatoes "Lyubasha"

Tomatoes of this variety were developed relatively recently. Over the course of several years, Lyubasha F1 tomatoes have become very popular among domestic farmers. The variety is classified as hybrid. This means that it was bred specifically to produce an excellent harvest with high quality fruit. Hybrid tomatoes, unlike varietal tomatoes, cannot be propagated. Therefore, each time for planting you will need to purchase new fresh seeds.

For the first time, the Lyubasha F1 tomato was released onto the market by agricultural breeders. A year later, the variety was officially included in the State Register. The variety is hardy to any climatic conditions and can be grown throughout the Russian Federation. Tomatoes can be grown both in greenhouses and in open soil. The variety is classified as determinant (limiting the height of the bush to around one meter).

It is important to remember that these tomatoes must be tied to supports, bushed and pinched. If possible, it is better to grow tomatoes in a greenhouse - this way the yield will be many times higher and better. Externally, the bushes are small in size, compact with a small number of rich green leaves.

It is better to bush tomatoes with two or three stems (the number varies depending on the degree of planting density). Farmers are advised to form bushes with three stems at a planting density of no more than four stems per square meter. One stepson is left under the brush, and the second - above it. If the density of tomatoes is higher than four stems per square meter, then it is better to bush the plants with two stems. Side shoots are removed as they appear and grow.

The first inflorescence of this tomato variety appears under the fifth or sixth leaf. It subsequently produces around eight fruits.

Interesting fact. The productivity of Lyubasha tomatoes is surprising. On some stems, two peduncles may appear in the internodes. Each of them can grow full-fledged fruits in each flower cluster. This fact does not affect the number of fruit clusters in other internodes.

Appearance of plants

Lyubasha is a determinate tomato, that is, it is limited in growth. The maximum “growth” of the bushes is 1 m. The plants are compact and oval in shape. The stems are strong, which allows them to withstand the weight of the harvest well. The number of leaves on the bushes is average, the leaf sizes are small, the color is dark green. The inflorescences are simple; each bush usually produces 4–5 fruit clusters.

The fruits are medium in size (average weight 120–140 g), characterized by a round, slightly flattened shape and medium ribbing. The skin is smooth and glossy, quite dense, so the tomatoes do not crack even in rainy weather.

Lyubasha bushes do not grow too large

At the stage of technical ripeness, the skin has a soft green color, and when fully ripe, it is rich, bright red. The pink pulp is characterized by medium density and high juiciness. Each fruit has 3–4 fairly large (compared to other hybrid tomatoes) seed chambers, but the total number of seeds is not too large.

Tomato sizes reach 6–7 cm, and the number of large seed chambers is usually 3

The juice and pulp contain a large amount of vitamins B, C, PP, as well as potassium, phosphorus and other useful elements. The content of ascorbic acid is as high as in citrus fruits and black currants. Consumption of fresh tomatoes is recommended to improve metabolism and as a support for anemia, cardiovascular diseases, memory impairment and other diseases.

The taste of Lyubasha tomatoes receives high marks from experts. A bright aroma is also noted, especially when cutting the fruit.

Tomato ripening and care

The main advantage of the hybrid is its early ripening period. The first tomatoes ready for harvest appear within a few months (on average sixty-five days) after germination. Unlike other early-ripening tomatoes, this hybrid surprises with its productivity. On average, from one square you can collect about twenty kilograms of good ripe fruits. The average value of one tomato bush is 5 kilograms of good large fruits.

Like other hybrids, the Lyubasha tomato is resistant to adverse environmental influences. The stems do not rot and are not attacked by insects and other pests. Farmers need not be afraid of Alternaria, late blight and other diseases of garden plants.

Harvesting and Application

Lyubasha is one of those varieties that ripen at the same time. This property helps to quickly harvest, but creates problems for storage.

Immediately after harvesting, most of the fruits must be sold or processed, and a small amount must be stored.

The onset of ripeness is determined by the presence of bright red skin without light areas.

Tomatoes must be picked carefully so as not to damage the integrity of the surface; the stem is not preserved.

Lyubasha is stored in dry wooden boxes in conditions of low humidity and active ventilation for up to 60 days. The room temperature should remain stable at 3-5°C.

Longer storage is possible by placing tomatoes in straw in boxes with a lid, but with air circulation. The room temperature should be slightly below 0°C.

The versatility of using the Lyubasha tomato hybrid suggests:

  • use raw in salads and snacks;
  • canning;
  • preparation of juices and sauces;
  • drying and drying.

Description of the hybrid fruits

The fruits have a beautiful round shape, slightly flattened. The ripe fruit is bright red in color, with dense pulp and smooth skin. The cut reveals pinkish flesh. Even when ripened in cold and wet weather, the skin of tomatoes does not crack or become damaged. There are few seed nests in the pulp - no more than four per fruit.

The average weight of a mature fruit is 130 grams. The optimal diameter allows you to use tomatoes for preparing fresh salads, whole canning, preparing tomato juice and other dishes. The rich taste of the fruit and dense pulp are also ideal for drying.

Domestic gardeners also appreciated the taste of the Lyubasha F1 tomato variety. Unlike many other hybrids, these tomatoes are aromatic and juicy, and do not at all resemble early-ripening plants. Tomatoes will survive even long-term transportation and storage without damage.

Secrets of cultivation

The Lyubasha tomato produces high yields when grown through seedling harvesting. In the south of Russia, fresh seeds can be planted in open soil; gardeners from other regions are advised to prepare seedlings approximately 50-55 days before the intended planting in open ground/greenhouse.

Seedlings are grown in special containers (plastic trays, wooden boxes) with drainage holes at the bottom to drain water. A nutrient substrate with peat and humus is suitable as soil. Seedlings love light - at least 12 hours of daily lighting are necessary.

For the first ten days, the temperature should not fall below +23°C; after two weeks, the seedlings can be placed at a temperature several degrees lower. You cannot plant seedlings in the ground if there is a risk of frost. Due to sudden changes in weather, tomato yields drop significantly. The ideal conditions for growing tomatoes is a greenhouse.

The seedlings of this hybrid are strong and take organic fertilizers well. But if you first feed the open soil with humus or other fertilizer, the seedlings do not need to be further treated with the compound. A distinctive feature of the variety is good yield even without fertilizing the seedlings.

In the garden bed or greenhouse, install pegs for tying up bushes. In terms of density, planting 5 bushes per square meter is considered ideal. The stem of the plant is dense and thick. To prevent diseases, use “Glyokladin” or other drugs (placed in the hole before planting in open ground). "Lyubasha" gives good yield after treatment with wood ash or other protective preparations.

After the first treatments and feeding, the hybrid is not demanding in care. Regular watering, mulching and loosening the holes, and removing weeds is enough. All that remains is to collect a good harvest of ripe and juicy fruits in early June!

Several reviews about the tomato “Lyubasha F1”

Gardeners throughout Russia grow these tomatoes in their beds and greenhouses. What do they say about Lyubasha tomatoes?

Marina, 49 years old, Saratov

“We tried Lyubasha for the first time last season. The hybrid is new, we took some seeds “for ourselves”. Before this, it didn’t work out with hybrids - the taste is too “flat”, different from varietal ones. I liked how easy it was to grow seedlings - out of five pallets there was only one slightly weak stem, but it also took root well in open soil. The seedlings were fed a little with humus and planted in soil with peat after April 8th. In the first week of June there were already fruits - dense, round and fragrant. The taste is excellent! We used everything for salads; we didn’t try it canned. But we have already rolled similar varieties - “Lyubasha”, I think, will also suit. This year we will take more seeds for sale.”

Alexey, 53 years old, Orel

“We have a small garden, so I try to choose only productive varieties of vegetables - so that one harvest is enough for the whole season. A friend advised me to take a hybrid of tomatoes - they are more stable and ripen better. “Lyubasha” came across completely by accident, but was pleasantly surprised by its quality. It is easy to grow - even inexperienced gardeners can handle it. I liked the taste of the fruit, it resembles varietal pink tomatoes. The tomatoes made tasty and good juice. By the way, the spring was rainy, but the tomatoes did not rot, the skin remained dense and smooth, which means they are also suitable for preservation. The harvest was good - 4 kilograms per bush, in the southern climate, I think it will be even better.”
