Characteristics and description of the variety
The Eternal Call subspecies is not a hybrid. The plant has excellent marketability - the number of fruits suitable for sale of the total quantity can be more than 90%. Of these, about 75% of the tomatoes are fully ripe.
The variety “Eternal Call” is a low-growing plant. After the formation of 4-5 brushes, the growth of the bushes stops.
The most suitable soil for the subspecies is chernozem, but any other soil mixed with humus can be used.
If you store tomatoes in a dark, cool and well-ventilated area, they can retain their quality for 40-50 days.
The level of foliage of the variety is average. The dark green leaves are small. The stalk of the bush has no articulation.
On average, the height of the stalk does not exceed 50-60 cm. However, if the variety is grown in a greenhouse, the size of the bushes can reach 1 m.
Important! Determinate plants are plants of small stature.
Fruit formation occurs at the end of the stem. After the first fruits are formed, the growth of the ovary stops. Subsequent growth occurs from the main shoot.
“Eternal Call” tomatoes are very meaty. The fruits weigh on average about 0.5 kg. The weight of the largest specimens can reach up to 1 kg.
The fruits are round with ribbed edges. The surface of the tomatoes is glossy.
Until the stalk is ripe, it is dark green. Unripe tomatoes have a light green tint. As they ripen they turn red.
Prevention of diseases and pests
The Eternal Call variety has strong immunity to diseases and pests, but a small risk of infection still exists. Common reasons for this are improper care or bad weather conditions.
In order not to lose the harvest, the bushes are regularly inspected for pests and signs of disease :
- Whiteflies are white midges on the undersides of leaves. Prefers greenhouse conditions. Eliminate the problem by ventilating structures.
- Spider mites are small insects that spoil crop leaves. Subsequently, the bushes become covered with yellow spots and die if control measures are not taken in a timely manner. The pest is destroyed with biological products: for example, “Actofit”.
- Aphids are insects that eat plants in greenhouses and in open ground. Aphids are dealt with using folk remedies: ashes, herbal decoctions (yarrow, chamomile).
- Apical rot . The disease appears as a black or brown crust on the top of the tomato. Observed on ripe fruits with a lack of calcium. The problem is eliminated by spraying the plants with a solution of calcium nitrate.
- Fusarium wilt of tomatoes is a fungal disease that makes the bushes look like they don't have enough moisture. The lower leaves begin to turn yellow, the stem cracks and becomes covered with a black crust. For prevention, crop rotation rules are followed. If the plant is already sick, use special drugs: for example, Previkur or Trichodermin.
- Gray rot - affects crops in a greenhouse. Leaves and stems are affected, but the fungus can also spread to fruits. Dark spots with a grayish tint can be removed by ventilating the greenhouse.
- Late blight causes yellowing and drying of the leaves, then spreads to the fruits. The reason for the appearance is excess moisture. To prevent the crop from dying, the watering regime and crop rotation rules are observed. If the plant is sick, it is pulled out and burned. For treatment, the drugs “Quadris”, “Tattu” or “Mikosan” are used.
- Leaf curl is a fungal disease that affects tomatoes at various stages of development. Prevention measures include timely feeding with microelements.
Productivity
The tomato variety “Eternal Call” is characterized by high yield. From 1 square meter you can harvest 4 kg of tomatoes. From the 10th day, about 4 tons of earth are collected.
It is best if the predecessors of tomatoes in the garden beds are zucchini, carrots or herbs. This helps to obtain a higher yield.
Those who tried “Eternal Call” noted the pleasant, delicate, slightly sugary taste of tomatoes.
They are mainly used for preparing fresh salads. For preservation - extremely rare, since the fruits are too large.

Your reviews of the Eternal Call tomato and additions to the description will help many gardeners evaluate this variety objectively and decide whether they are worth planting or not.
This is a natural variety of tomato. Therefore, we recommend taking seeds from a ripe fruit and using them for planting in subsequent seasons.
Planting time for seedlings
Sowing of seeds should be carried out approximately 50 days before the intended planting in the ground.
The seeds are placed in a prepared mixture of soil, sand and fertilizers, which can be purchased at a specialized store, or you can make it yourself
Don't forget to disinfect the soil. To do this, you need to hold it in the oven for 7-10 minutes or hold it over hot steam.
The seeds are placed to a depth of 2-3 cm and covered with film.
It is important to follow the following rules:
- plants should be illuminated with bright light for 14-16 hours;
- the temperature should vary from 23 to 25 degrees;
- after diving, the temperature is reduced by 20 degrees (necessary for hardening).
Growing seedlings
When grown in open ground, seeds for seedlings are sown in mid-March. The seedlings are transplanted into the garden bed in the second ten days of May. When grown in a greenhouse, sowing and transplanting can be done one and a half to two weeks earlier.
Before sowing, the seeds are disinfected in a solution of potassium permanganate, and the soil is calcined in the oven. The seeding depth is 0.5-1.5 cm.
The crops are well moistened with a spray bottle and covered with film.
The optimal temperature is 23-25 °C.
After the seedlings emerge, the box should be moved to the windowsill and the temperature should be reduced to 16 °C for a week. After rooting the seedlings, it is increased again - to 20-22 °C. At the stage of appearance of 2 true leaves, the plants are transplanted into separate pots, and 2 weeks before transplantation they are hardened off, taken outside daily.
Transfer
A month before transplanting, the soil in the garden bed must be dug up and rotted manure added. Immediately before planting seedlings, the soil is watered with a solution of potassium permanganate and loosened well.
Tomatoes are replanted according to a 40x50 cm pattern and pegs are installed for tying. Place a handful of ash and 1 tsp in each hole. superphosphate, pour 1-2 liters of water, cover with earth and hill up.
Features of growing and caring for the variety
Tomato bushes need to be regularly loosened, watered and weeded. In addition, “Eternal Call”, like other crops, needs to be fed. It is recommended to use mineral fertilizers as top dressing.
The planting pattern is as follows: 40x50 cm. It is recommended to grow no more than 10 bushes per 1 sq. m. Transport allows you to grow bushes with 2-3 stems.
When growing, Eternal Call tomatoes should receive plenty of sunlight. Otherwise, the fruits will be small and unripe.
The recommended temperature for growth is 23-25 degrees. However, the variety can perfectly withstand temperatures within 17-20 degrees.
About the tomato "Monomakh's Hat"
This variety will take root well both in open soil and in greenhouses. The bushes begin to bear fruit 110 - 115 days after the seedlings have sprouted. Due to the timing of ripening, this variety is considered mid-early.
Plants reach a height of 1 - 1.5 m, and are powerful in themselves. The fruits are very large, weight reaches 0.6 - 1 kg, fleshy, rich red color, acid and sugar in taste are combined very harmoniously.
Cracks may appear in young fruits, which slightly spoil the presentation. The yield is more than 14 kg per 1 sq.m. This variety is resistant to late blight.
Advantages:
- large fruits
- good taste
- bountiful harvest
- resistant to late blight
Flaws:
cracks can make tomatoes appear unattractive
When growing seedlings of the Monomakh Hat variety, there are almost no differences from the standard method. The only peculiarity is that when planted in the ground, the seedlings should not be 45 days old, and there should also be no flowers.
If you allow such seedlings to be planted, the bushes will have weak brushes, and then a poor harvest.
Also, when growing seedlings, it is very important to maintain an optimal temperature balance, that is, to minimize the difference between day and night temperatures
In order for the “Monomakh Hat” tomato bushes to produce a decent harvest, you need to perform various actions to care for the plants.
Watering, fertilizing, pruning are carried out according to the standard scheme, but there are some small peculiarities.
Firstly, “Monomakh’s Cap” is a very moisture-loving variety, so when watering the bushes you need to literally flood them so that the water goes deep into the ground. To check whether the moisture has reached a sufficient depth, you need to dig a hole near the bush, and the shovel must be driven completely into the ground. The depth of this hole should match the length of the two bayonets of the shovel.
Similar to the “Bull’s Heart” variety, the bushes of this tomato can have 2 shoots. Be sure to pinch all the bushes when they grow to a length of 1 meter. “Monomakh's Cap” is characterized by active growth of greenery, but the fruits will suffer greatly. That is why you will need to pinch the tops of the shoots.
For one bush, a normal load of 2 - 3 ovaries will be, because due to their large mass, the fruits will put an extremely large load on the stems.
Feeding and harvesting have no special features. When harvesting, you can also pick brown tomatoes; they also taste excellent.
Advantages and disadvantages of the variety
- good marketability;
- can be transported over long distances;
- large fruit sizes;
- high yield;
- the variety can grow even in cold regions;
It is worth noting that slightly unripe fruits tolerate transportation well. For fruits that are fully ripe, their presentation may deteriorate.
The variety has practically no disadvantages. It can only be noted that the tomatoes of the first harvest will be the most presentable, but the characteristics of subsequent fruits will be less juicy, and their size will no longer be so large.
From the history of the creation of the variety
We have this tomato thanks to the efforts of breeder Vladimir Nikolaevich Dederko. He bred it in Novosibirsk, so “Eternal Call” is considered a Siberian variety. The breeder's goal was to obtain a tomato that would not be afraid of unfavorable conditions, would be tolerant of temperature changes, and could grow in frosty regions, that is, almost throughout the entire territory of our country. Tomato can be successfully grown not only in cool areas, but also in the southern regions, in Belarus, Moldova, Kazakhstan, and Ukraine. In fact, “Eternal Call” is a universal variety that can successfully bear fruit in any climate zone.
