The type of drug is an antiparasitic drug (coccidiostatic) of the triazinetrione group.

Release form: 2.5% solution for oral use.

Used for diseases: coccidiosis.

Analogues of the drug: toltarox 2.5%, intracox oral, coccidix, tolicox, eimeterm solution 2.5%, oltrazuril.

Cost of the drug: 3450 rubles for 1 liter of product in a plastic bottle.

The medicinal properties of Baycox are due to the properties of the main substance - toltrazuril, which is effective against all types of coccidia (single-celled parasites).

Toltrazuril:

  • has a blocking effect on the respiratory enzymes of coccidia;
  • damages mitochondria (intracellular objects);
  • is introduced during the division of the coccidia nucleus;
  • disrupts the formation of macrogametocytes (cells of a certain type).

Baykox does not cause complications in chickens and does not interfere with the development of immunity to coccidiosis . The product can be combined with other medications for birds, except coccidiostats, as well as vitamins and feed additives.

General characteristics and description of the drug

Baycox for birds is used in veterinary medicine to prevent coccidiosis and eliminate existing disease. The product can be used to treat ordinary chickens and broiler breeds, as well as geese, quails, turkeys, ducks and pigeons.

The drug is available in two forms, differing in the concentration of the active substance. For birds, Baycox 2.5% is used, containing a solvent and the active ingredient - toltrazuril, which has a detrimental effect on eimeria. The medicine is a colorless and odorless liquid, available in volumes of 1 liter, 1 and 10 ml.

1 ml of the Baycox medicine contains 25 mg of the active component, which, when ingested, is localized in the gastrointestinal tract of the bird. Toltrazuril has a detrimental effect on the parasites that cause the disease, preventing their reproduction.

The advantage of using the drug is that Baycox is able to influence even protozoan species that are resistant to similar drugs.

In addition, the product is equally destructive for parasites at different stages of development.

For what diseases is Baycox used?

The medicine Baycox is used to treat coccidiosis in broilers, chickens, turkeys, geese, quails, ducks, pigeons and other poultry. Has an effect on all types of coccidia. It is capable of destroying even those strains and species with increased resistance to the effects of other antibacterial drugs.

Baycox in ampoules

The main component, toltrazuril, destroys pathogens during all stages of their development, as well as during intracellular development. In addition, when taking the drug, the immune system and the body’s resistance to coccidiosis do not decrease. It is added to various types of food or water. It can be combined with other medications. Good results are obtained when taken together with vitamin complexes.

It is worth noting that due to the fact that the drug has an effective effect against all forms of coccidiosis and is capable of destroying various types of coccidia, it is used both for treatment and for preventive procedures for coccidiosis.

Indications for use

The drug Baycox is used to prevent and combat coccidiosis, a dangerous disease that affects poultry. The development of the disease can be recognized by the following signs:

  • apathy, indifference to the environment;
  • loose stools mixed with blood;
  • lethargy, staying in one place for a long time without moving;
  • refusal of food;
  • developmental delay, slow weight gain;
  • unsteady gait.

Thanks to its effective composition, Baycox has a detrimental effect on all types of Eimeria.

Storage conditions

Store Baycox in a dark place at a temperature of 0 to 25 degrees. Feed mixtures and food products should not be stored nearby. Children and animals should not be allowed to the place where the drug is stored. In closed packages, the veterinary drug is stored for three years after manufacture. Opened containers are stored for no longer than one year.

When working with veterinary equipment, the following precautions must be observed:

  • work with gloves;
  • if the medicine gets on the skin, it should be washed off immediately;
  • Baybox containers cannot be used to store food.

General recommendations

Baycox is prescribed for the following purposes:

  • if there is a high level of coccidia in the litter (20 thousand per 1 g);
  • when symptoms of coccidiosis are detected.

The medicine cannot be used in its pure form, so the medicine is diluted in water and offered to the bird. During group treatment, for proper breeding, it is necessary to determine the volume of water that birds consume in two days. The dose can be calculated based on the body weight of the sick individual: 28 ml/100 kg of live weight.

Instructions for use for birds

Baycox can be used to treat birds of different species and ages, however, before preparing the solution, you need to familiarize yourself with the rules of use in more detail and take into account what type of birds need help.

For chickens

Raising chickens is a troublesome task that requires the farmer to constantly monitor and care for the birds. To raise strong young animals, it is necessary to provide the chicks with normal living conditions, as well as regularly carry out preventive measures to avoid the development of coccidiosis. For this purpose Baykoks for chickens is used.

The drug can be used together with other medications of similar action.

According to the instructions for use of the product for chickens, the drug is diluted in water: 1 ml of the drug is added to 1 liter.

The resulting solution is fed to the chicks over the next 24 hours. As a preventive measure, the drug is allowed to be given to chickens that have reached two weeks of age.

For the goslings

Weak goslings at an early age are especially susceptible to various infectious diseases, which should be taken into account by farmers breeding this bird. In the first days of life, you need to carefully monitor the health of the chicks, and when the goslings reach two weeks of age, prevent them with Baycox. To do this, 1 ml of the drug is mixed in a liter of water and given to the goslings to drink during the day.

For turkey poults

Adult turkeys are strong and hardy birds, but at a young age, turkey poults often get sick and die due to their immature immunity. In order not to lose your wards, you need to have Baycox in your first aid kit, which will effectively eliminate the symptoms and causative agents of coccidiosis.

Having discovered signs of the development of the disease in turkey poults, they are given a medicinal solution prepared from 1 liter of water and 1 ml of the drug. Sick birds should drink the solution within 24 hours.

For chicks of other species

For young animals of other species - ducklings, quails and pigeons - the rules for using Baycox are the same. In addition to treatment, chicks need to be provided with vitamins.

For the treatment and prevention of coccidiosis, the medicine in an amount of 1 ml is mixed in 1 liter of clean water and offered to birds. It is important that the birds drink the medicinal solution within 24 hours.

Broilers

Baykoks can be used not only for ordinary chickens, but also for broiler chickens. The use of the product is recommended at the maximum level of coccidia in the litter, as well as in the presence of obvious symptoms of the disease. Baykox for broilers is diluted in water at the rate of 1 ml/1 l and the birds are fed during the day. There is another dosage: 3 ml of product / 1 liter of water, in this case the mixture is given for 8 hours for two days.

Other birds

For other species of birds, taking Baycox is recommended when coccidiosis is detected or when a high degree of coccidia is detected. The medicine is diluted in clean water at the rate of 1 ml/1 l and given to sick individuals throughout the day.

Pharmacological properties

Baycox is part of the group of anticoccidial agents . It has an active effect against coccidia, namely those that are resistant to the effects of other anticoccidial drugs. Affects all periods of intracellular development of eimeria.

The active component , toltrazuril, when it enters the body, has a blocking effect on the respiratory enzymes of coccidia and damages the mitochondria, disrupting the processes of separation of the coccidia nucleus. As a result, the formation of macrogametocytes is disrupted. After oral administration of toltrazuril, slow absorption of this component occurs and due to this, it has a coccidiocidal effect on the mucous and submucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract. The component is excreted from the body of birds in unchanged form or in the form of metabolites with droppings.

Baycox ampoules 2.5%

It has moderate toxic properties towards warm-blooded animals . In moderate dosages, as well as 10 times higher dosages, it has no side effects, does not cause allergies or complications. Does not reduce the immune system and the body's resistance to coccidiosis.

Coccidiosis in birds is a serious disease that affects the entire body. It is imperative that when the first symptoms of the disease occur, treatment is carried out with the drug Baycox. This remedy is capable of destroying infectious agents in a short period of time. It can be used for prevention in both young animals and adults.
