Preparation Quadris - instructions for using fungicide for plants

Mechanism of action of the drug

The active ingredient of Quadris has a translaminar and systemic effect, due to which the composition quickly penetrates into the structure of the plant through its leaf blades, providing protection against the invasion of pathogenic organisms.

The instructions for use indicate that the fungicide quickly inhibits sporulation and the growth of appressoria (specialized organs of attachment of fungi, similar to the suckers of animals), which has a negative effect on fungal vultures. The drug also helps improve photosynthesis and has an antisporulation effect.

Among the fungal infection pathogens that Quadris fights are:

  • oomycetes (Oomycetes);
  • basidiomycetes;
  • deuteromycetes (Deuteromycetes);
  • ascomycetes (Ascomycetes).

After applying the product to the culture, the result can be observed within an hour.

Features of using the drug

So, how to use the Quadris fungicide? The instructions for use recommend adding other fungicides per 10 liters of water. What is it for? The fact is that there are a lot of diseases today, and not every summer resident can determine what exactly the plant is suffering from. Therefore, it is recommended to prepare a solution with the widest possible spectrum of action. An additive to this drug can be the systemic fungicide "Alyette", as well as "Dzherelo", "Defender" and a number of others. Consider this point when preparing the medicinal solution.

If you have large crop areas, then you will definitely have to repeat the treatment to prevent an outbreak of the disease. Therefore, after two successive treatments with Quadris, it is necessary to change the active substance and use fungicides with a mechanism of action different from strobilurins.

Be sure to check the weather forecast and do not apply the product to wet foliage or when thunderclouds are gathering and it may rain in the next few hours.

Application area

The instructions for using the fungicide indicate that it not only protects various crops from fungal diseases, but also prolongs their fruiting. In addition, Quadris is allowed to be used even during the harvest period, and the treatment will also help to increase the safety of the harvested products.

The scope of application of the fungicide is quite extensive - it can safely treat the entire area, from planting potatoes to grapes. The instructions for use contain a list of crops that are recommended to be sprayed with Quadris.

Compatibility and toxicity

"Quadris" is compatible with insecticides and other fungicides. The chemical is not phytotoxic if used in the dosage specified in the attached instructions. The fungicide is phytotoxic only for apple trees. Therefore, when processing grapes or vegetable crops located near apple trees, they try to avoid demolition of the finished solution. It is not recommended to carry out treatment during the flowering period of plants, there is a possibility of harm to bees and other insects that pollinate plants.

Advantages and disadvantages of the drug Quadris

Fungicide Quadris Top contains instructions for use that are understandable even for beginners. It contains information about the benefits of this pesticide:

  • providing a long-lasting effect;
  • is not addictive;
  • harmless to bees, plants and birds. Does not have a negative effect on the human body;
  • has a detrimental effect not only on vultures, but also on spores of pathogenic fungi;
  • short period of time waiting for the reaction of the product: no more than an hour passes from treatment to the first results;
  • economical consumption;
  • a cost that is accessible to all segments of the population.

Preparation of working solution

Quadris SK has detailed instructions for use, so preparing a working solution will not cause problems even for novice gardeners.

The finished mixture must be applied to plants using a sprayer. It is recommended to dilute the solution in the bottle itself, which should be filled with clean, preferably filtered, water.

The instructions for use indicate that the dosage is different for different types of crops. However, there is a certain rule for preparing the composition:

  1. The container should be filled ¼-1/3 with water.
  2. Add the required amount of the drug.
  3. Mix.
  4. Add the required water level.

Important!
Before use, the container with the fungicide must be shaken, since the drug tends to settle. The finished product should be used within 24 hours after dilution, which is also indicated in the instructions for use.

Important Cautions

The active substance of the drug may settle to the bottom of the tank in which it is located. To avoid getting too concentrated a liquid on the plants or, conversely, not active enough, it is necessary to stir or shake the solution in the tank from time to time.

Treatment of plants is carried out with the finest spray, since Quadris is effective in combating fungi and bacteria that affect plantings in minimal doses. For this reason, there is no need to water the leaves and stems too much with a solution of this fungicide.

It is important to emphasize that Quadris cannot be used in the same area simultaneously with herbicides. In addition, the drug can be phytotoxic (reduces resistance to sunlight, which leads to burns) for some varieties of apple trees, so if you use one sprayer for the garden, vineyard and vegetable plantings, then the tank and all parts should be rinsed very thoroughly.

Prepare the fungicide solution in small volumes; this will allow you to use the drug economically and without residue. If there is still some solution left, pour it in a remote place where there are no water sources nearby. Then pour more water into the sprayer tank, rinse thoroughly and pour it in the same place. Repeat the procedure several more times.

Consumption rate and use of the drug Quadris

Quadris is a pesticide that can be used to treat a large number of crops. In order to reduce the consumption of the product, it is necessary to carry out spot spraying of planted plants, preventing the solution from getting into empty areas.

Each crop has its own dosage, which should be followed when diluting the drug, having carefully studied the instructions for use.

For the lawn

Quadris is suitable for protecting flower plantings and lawn crops from a variety of fungal diseases. In this case, the total amount of active substance in the solution should not exceed 0.15%. Spraying can be done once every 21 days.

For grapes

The drug Quadris is also suitable for processing grapes, effectively dealing with powdery marsupial fungus. The application of the fungicide begins when light spots appear on the leaves of the crop. The solution must contain 0.1% active substance.

As a rule, the treatment is carried out during planting of the vines. Repeated spraying is allowed 3 more times a season. At the same time, experts recommend increasing the efficiency of treatment by alternating fungicides with different active ingredients in the composition. This will reduce the risk of fungal resistance.

Spraying should be carried out only in the morning or evening. In this case, pathogenic organisms begin to die within an hour, and the protective effect lasts for 3 weeks.

Experienced gardeners recommend the following sequence of treatments, according to the instructions:

  • before tying buds;
  • immediately after flowering;
  • during berry ripening;
  • 10 days before the grape harvest.

For tomatoes and peppers

Quadris is also used for seedlings of peppers and tomatoes. The drug has a positive effect on crops planted both in greenhouses and in open ground. Using a fungicide you can get rid of late blight, dry spotting, powdery mildew and stem rot. The dilution of the drug varies depending on the location of the crops. Tomatoes and peppers in open ground must be sprayed with a solution of less than 0.06%. Seedlings in greenhouses need a more concentrated mixture - up to 0.1%, as indicated in the instructions.

The frequency of treatments depends on the spread of the disease and weather conditions. However, the instructions give recommendations to maintain an interval between spraying of 14 days, while the use of the drug is permissible 10 days before harvesting the fruits.

For cucumbers

Downy mildew and powdery mildew on cucumber vines can be removed using a 0.08% solution of Quadris. In regions with a humid climate, it is recommended to use the product no more than 3 times a season. In the central part of Russia, twice spraying with an interval of 15 days is sufficient, which is also shown in the instructions.

For potatoes

Quadris is a fungicide that is designed to rid potatoes of basidiomycetes, the main cause of the development of black and silver scab. In this case, the primary treatment is carried out shortly before planting the potatoes: it is necessary to spray both the tubers themselves and the holes for them. The concentration of the working solution is 0.3%. For every hundred square meters it is necessary to spend at least 10 liters.

Secondary spraying is required when the tops are just beginning to dry. In this case, a weaker solution (0.1%) is needed, which is shown in the instructions for use.

For the bow

The use of Quadris for a crop such as onions is only possible if the planting is not used to consume the green part. Spraying is carried out with a weak solution already at the stage of the appearance of the first greenery. During the season, 5 treatments are allowed, between which there is an interval of 2 weeks. The concentration of the working composition is 0.1%, consumption is 4 liters per hundred square meters.

For strawberries

Treating strawberries with Quadris allows not only to cure, but also to prevent the development of fungal diseases on the crop. The instructions for use stipulate certain spraying times:

  • before flowering;
  • after harvest;
  • before wintering.

Pros and cons of the substance

An effective mechanism of action should not tempt a gardener or gardener without a full study of the positive and negative aspects of use. The Quadris substance does not contain chemical pesticides. But there are plenty of disadvantages to refuse spraying on your site.

There are, of course, more advantages to using it. The provided crop protection is short-term (up to 21 days). After the fungicide has eliminated pathogens, it disintegrates, leaving no trace. The breakdown of the active substance into:

  • nitrogen;
  • oxygen;
  • hydrogen and carbon are harmless.

Blocking sporulation completely eliminates the problem and prevents the resumption of fungal infection for another 2 seasons. Additional advantages are also called:

  1. Photosynthesis accelerates and intensifies. This makes it possible to withstand temperature changes and bad weather conditions. Application of Quadris is allowed at temperatures from +4 to +35 degrees.
  2. You can always combine it with other fertilizers. Drugs that do not contain strobilurins. Quadris does not interfere with all methods of increasing yield. Can be combined and added with humus, compost, humate.
  3. It has an accumulating effect, but does not penetrate into the fruit. Protective qualities are retained during winter storage. No additional processing is required for preservation.
  4. Use before sowing is allowed to treat soil microflora and microfauna. This makes it possible to prevent diseases and avoid the use of serious chemicals.
  5. Broad spectrum of action: kills all known pathogenic fungal spores. This quality allows beginning gardeners and farmers to use the product.

If we talk about negative aspects, then the first thing you need to know is that Quadris must be diluted strictly according to the instructions. An overdose can kill the plant rather than cure it. Since the substance is hazard class 2, it means that processing must take place in a protective suit. Pets should be kept away from the application area.

One of the disadvantages of Quadris is that the substance is not used annually. And also, you cannot spray during budding and flowering. If there are bodies of water near the land plot, there is a risk of poisoning fish and river inhabitants.

Fungicide compatibility

As a rule, compatibility with other drugs used on crops is good. There are no known cases of incompatibility. If in doubt, a compatibility test should be carried out before use.

Precautionary measures

Despite the low toxicity of the product, it is necessary to work with Quadris with the following precautions:

  1. Protective clothing. It is recommended to carry out spraying wearing glasses, a mask, gloves and a hat.
  2. Suitable weather conditions for work. Do not treat vegetation in strong winds, before rain or during heat.
  3. Protection of other crops from Quadris. According to the instructions for use of the product, almost all plantings on the site respond painlessly to treatment with the drug. The only exceptions are some varieties of apples, the foliage of which can get burned under the influence of the fungicide.

The use of Quadris according to the instructions is safe not only for humans, but also for bees, birds, worms and insects. However, the drug has a toxic effect on the inhabitants of water bodies. Therefore, it is prohibited to use the fungicide near rivers and ponds, as well as to drain the remaining solution into them.

Do not keep opened packaging of the substance in places where food and water supplies are stored, or where children and animals have access.

Important! If the solution gets on your mucous membranes, you must immediately rinse them and consult a doctor. It will not be superfluous to take absorbent agents.

Analogs of fungicide Quadris

Quadris, despite the innovative active ingredient contained in its composition, has a number of analogues. Each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages, which relate to both the cost of the product and its effectiveness.

The most popular drug among similar products is the fungicide Consento, which has a translaminar effect. Its ability to penetrate plant leaf blades means it is independent from weather conditions. The product is also diluted in low concentration, which allows us to talk about the economical use of the drug. At the same time, the effectiveness in protecting crops from pathogenic fungi is not reduced.

There are a number of analogues that can also be used together, or instead of Quadris:

  • Falcon;
  • Prosaro;
  • Folicur;
  • Strobe;
  • Defender.

Release form of the drug

"Quadris" is produced in the form of a suspension. Companies that produce the drug package it according to:

  • ampoules of 5 and 6 milliliters. A convenient format for gardeners who have small garden plots, suitable for processing indoor flowers, seedlings and vegetable crops under film covers;
  • stick packages with a volume of 6 milliliters (0.006 dm3). It will not break during storage and transportation;
  • plastic bottles with a volume of 100, 1000, 5000 milliliters. An economical option for large garden plots, farmland with vegetable and garden crops.

Produced by a Swiss company.

Interesting fact!

The active substance azoxystrobin does not accumulate in plants and their fruits. The fungicide does not contain heavy and harmful chemical compounds, such as metal ions, phosphorus, sulfur. After spraying, the drug, after the end of its beneficial effect, completely disintegrates into nitrogen, oxygen, carbon, and hydrogen.
