With the beginning of the gardening season, every summer resident again faces the problem of removing weeds from their beds and throughout the entire plot. Putting plantings in order is not always easy, because not only annual weeds grown from seeds can grow on the site, but also perennials with a powerful root system. The process of fighting weeds is quite painful, you have to spend a long time in an inclined position, by the evening your back becomes weak and your legs hurt.
Is it possible to somehow simplify the struggle process? Of course, some gardeners and gardeners use different hoes and flat cutters. But the grass continues to grow again. The attitude towards herbicides is ambiguous, especially since it is undesirable to use them on plantings. Today there are drugs that do not harm garden and vegetable plantings if you treat weeds with them following the instructions. One of the popular and safe remedies is Tornado weed killer. We will try to convince the skeptics and prove that the product is safe and destroys weeds where site owners need it.
Chemical composition of the herbicide Tornado and use of the drug
The main active substance in this pesticide is glyphosate (360 g/l). The substance, falling on the foliage, penetrates the cell sap and, together with it, descends to the root system and destroys it.
As a result, the plant turns yellow ahead of schedule, the foliage falls off, and the weed itself dies. The plants are completely destroyed a month after spraying with Tornado. Among thickets of trees and bushes, weeds begin to die 30 days after treatment, and end after a couple of months.
Important!
Tornado herbicide is equally effective for annual and perennial weeds.
This drug can be used both on small personal plots and on large fields; usually the product is applied in the spring and autumn, a couple of weeks before digging.
Photo of Tornado herbicide
Under negative weather conditions (rainy, cold weather or during periods of drought), the time required for weed destruction after using Tornado may increase.
One of the common mistakes made by summer residents is to re-apply the product after a few days, because the results of the treatment are not visible.
. This should not be done, because even in the instructions for use of Tornado it is described that the pesticide begins to affect plants only 6-8 days after treatment. As a result, the weeds begin to dry out after about 1.5 weeks.
This product should be applied exclusively to the leaf blades and stems of plants, since the pesticide that gets on the soil is not absorbed by the root system, so it will not have the desired effect on weeds. If the weeds have turned yellow due to natural processes, the Tornado will not have an effect on them either.
Important!
The drug Tornado is ineffective against weed seeds.
Compatibility with other chemicals
It often happens that there is no time to separately treat the garden with herbicides, insecticides and fertilizers, and it is necessary to combine several preparations at once. Despite the fact that manufacturers of most chemicals do not recommend using several drugs at the same time, Tornado herbicide combines well with other chemicals
For example, if there is a need to simultaneously control weeds and pests, Tornado can be used simultaneously with Bi-58. To increase efficiency, you can also combine Tornado with other herbicides, for example, Magnum. If you want not only to remove weeds, but also to fertilize the soil, the herbicide can be combined with nitrogen fertilizers (ammonium sulfate, ammonium nitrate, etc.).
In addition, when using Tornado against weeds, one feature of the drug should be taken into account: it only affects the roots, since the active substance penetrates the root system through the leaves and stems. At the same time, if you are carrying out autumn treatment, and the weed seeds have already spread throughout the area, you will have to use other herbicides, the action of which is aimed specifically at destroying the seeds. In this case, you will destroy not only adult plants, but also their seeds, and thus prevent the spread of weeds in the next season.

Tornado is widely used for:
- manual spraying;
- with the help of tractors - large fields are sprayed (most often potato or corn);
- when using aviation equipment - it is used if the processing area is extremely large, the area is difficult to access or is located remote enough for ground equipment to pass.
Tornado is used, as a rule, once a year and subject to certain requirements:
- when there is no wind (maximum wind speed 5 m per second);

Types of herbicide Tornado
There are several varieties of the drug Tornado, the properties of which are slightly different.
Herbicidal preparation Tornado 500
The Tornado 500 variety of herbicide is most effective against annual cereal weeds.
Spraying should be carried out during the period when weeds emerge into the tube, and their size should be at least 4-6 cm. If spraying is carried out against perennial weeds, then they should grow to 10-20 cm and have at least 4-6 true leaves.
Annual dicotyledonous weeds are destroyed at the stage of 2-3 permanent leaves until the buds open.

. In this herbicide, the amount of the main active substance (glyphosate acid) is increased.
Herbicide Tornado 540 is a contact preparation; it affects weeds only when it comes into contact with foliage and stems
. The product is effective at the following air temperatures - from 0 to +34 degrees Celsius, country of release - Russia.

When and how to spray weeds
The destruction of weeds on the site is carried out in dry, windless weather or early in the morning when the dew has dried or after 4 o’clock in the afternoon.
As a rule, weeds are destroyed using Tornado once a season: before planting or after the crop is harvested.
If you need to prepare a lawn for sowing perennial grass, you need to start eliminating weeds 14 days before sowing.
Attention! When treating weeds with Tornado, it is necessary to avoid contact of the solution with crop plants.
If you need to destroy weeds in plantings, they are covered with film. Look at the photo how the gardener works so that you don’t accidentally spray the pepper with poison.
In areas not occupied by cultivated plants, you can spray Tornado against weeds all over the place. When working, maintain a distance of at least 3 cm.
Attention! If there are no weeds on the soil, the treatment will be in vain, since the Tornado drug only affects green mass.
Tornado: preparation of working solution
To prepare a working fluid based on this drug, you must use only settled water without impurities. Dirty water degrades the properties of Tornado and reduces its effectiveness in controlling weeds.
Important!
If hard water is used to prepare the working solution, then the amount of liquid should be reduced and the amount of herbicide increased. Recommended concentrations of working fluid are from 1 to 3%.
The preparation of the working solution of the Tornado product is carried out immediately before starting work. The hermetically sealed preparation is shaken thoroughly to mix, then opened and the required amount is measured for one filling of the sprayer tank.
Half the required amount of liquid is poured into the tank, the required dose of the drug is added and mixed thoroughly. Then pour in the rest of the water and mix again.

Flaws
For all its advantages, the herbicide has other qualities that make its use impractical under some conditions.
- It only affects sprouted plants and all their parts, but weed seeds are invulnerable to Tornado.
- It has a bad effect on overly developed weeds - if they are taller than 15-20 cm, the solution will only affect the above-ground part, the roots will survive, and the weed itself will become even stronger.
- It is absorbed into the ground quite slowly. If it rains shortly after treating the weeds with the herbicide, the weed control will not work. It is necessary to process only when there is absolute confidence that there will be no precipitation for at least 6-7 hours.
Herbicide Tornado: use of the drug
Tornado weed spraying is carried out in the morning or evening hours in calm, clear weather.
Important!
It is not necessary to apply the product before rain.
The drug Tornado begins to act:
- for annual grasses – after 6-8 days;
- for perennials - after 1-1.5 weeks;
- on trees and shrubs - after 3-4 weeks.
We treat paths against weeds with a product - Tornado - video
Complete death of weeds in the treated area occurs approximately 20-25 days after spraying; trees or shrubs treated with Tornado die completely after 1.5-2 months.
In rainy weather, the effect of the herbicide slows down somewhat. This product should not be used for treatments together with other similar drugs; it is much more effective to spray one at a time.
During the season, a single treatment with this herbicide is sufficient to completely destroy weeds. Working fluid consumption is 3 liters per hundred square meters of area.
A working solution based on Tornado is prepared as follows:
- for treating annual weeds - dilute 25 ml of the drug in 3 liters of liquid;
- for perennial herbs, 50 ml is needed for the same amount of liquid;
- to completely destroy ragweed, wheatgrass or field bindweed, dilute 75 ml of the drug in 3 liters of liquid.
Preparations for pests:
Alatar Fufanon Imidor
On potato plantations, treatment with Tornado working solution against weeds is carried out approximately 7-10 days before the emergence of potato shoots.
You should prepare the amount of working fluid that will be consumed at one time, since the remains of this drug cannot be stored. At the end of the treatment, the remaining drug is disposed of. The container from the product is burned, hands and face are washed under running water and soap.
Advice!
To treat small areas, you should use the herbicide Tornado Bau, which is completely ready for use and packaged in bottles.

Herbicide Tornado: reviews of use against weeds
Antonina, 45 years old, Samara region: I’m tired of fighting weeds in my area with my hands. It’s good that my neighbor at the dacha recommended treating them with Tornado herbicide. I tried this treatment last spring and was pleased with the result. After spraying the aboveground part of the weed, about a week later all the plants turned yellow and then died. And they didn't appear again this season. Now I will carry out such sprayings annually in the spring.
Tatyana, 55 years old, Tambov region: Sloes grew on my plot, from which a large amount of shoots came. Last season I sprayed all this growth with Tornado solution. And after about a month, not a trace remained of it - it all withered and died. Now I don’t have to spend hours weeding it out and uprooting it along with its roots.
Nikolay, 44 years old, Ulyanovsk region: I use the drug Tornado to clean the trunks of my fruit trees and grapes from weeds. I treat weeds in spring or summer; they die approximately 10 days after spraying. I recommend this product to everyone - it destroys all weeds easily and simply.
Preparations from the Tornado series effectively cope with almost any type of weed, both in small areas and in large fields.
Usually, a single spraying of the weeds is enough to completely kill them. In addition to weeds, this drug can be used to destroy unnecessary trees or shrubs.
Reviews
Marina, Kyiv
A five-year-old niece came with a bouquet of fluffy white dandelions, stood in the middle of the garden, blew, and proudly announced that she had sowed flowers. Okay, this attack is already upon us, we know how to cope - there is the almighty Tornado, we can cope with the ubiquitous dandelions.
But we were overcome by another problem, against which the Tornado has no effect - the rhizomes of the pine tree were spreading from the neighbors. The herbicide can’t cope with it, no matter how hard we try, we even sprayed it into the plant itself with a syringe. We received a few withered leaves and that’s it—it was time to go away as if nothing had happened. They explained to me that this is because of its foliage - it is not wetted by water. You have to rip it out by hand, there is too much of it!
Vasily, Krasnodar
My favorite herbicide, I use it all the time. It works even in minimal concentrations. But after using it, you need to wash the containers properly. Otherwise, after spraying with the herbicide, I sprayed the flowers in the pot with the same spray bottle. The flowers, of course, withered. My wife expressed her opinion to me. So be careful with Tornado herbicide.
