Tomato Cherry Black or Black Cherry: description of a variety with a unique sweet taste

Origin and description of the variety

Cherry tomatoes were bred in 1973, it was at this time that Israeli scientists created small sweet tomatoes that ripen not in pairs or one at a time, but in whole bunches. But these fruits were red. The variety of famous dark-skinned tomatoes was developed by breeders from the USA only in 2003. In the state register of the Russian Federation, the black bunch cherry tomato was registered as a separate variety only in 2009.

Black Cherry tomatoes are a tall representative of tomatoes; they can be grown in open ground and in greenhouses. The plant looks like a grapevine, which is completely covered with clusters of small fruits. Each brush usually contains from five to nine pieces.

The fruits of Black Cherry are small purple-black tomatoes, spherical in shape. Their characteristic features:

  • Fruit weight - about 20 grams;
  • The diameter is no more than 3 centimeters;
  • The pulp is medium-dense;
  • The skin of the fruit is thin;
  • The ripe fruit has black-purple flesh.

The Cherry Black tomato variety is perhaps the only variety of miniature tomatoes whose shoots on the sides are thicker than the central ones. The side shoots produce most of the harvest, which is usually abundant.

The aromatic fruits of the “black cherry” variety have a rich and complex taste; they are good not only as a decoration for a dish, but also in salads. Unfortunately, this crop is not kept fresh for a long time, but black mini tomatoes give mixtures of pickled vegetables a great taste and aroma, although they can also be preserved separately.

Advantages of the variety

Black cherry tomatoes, in comparison with their large red counterparts, have a number of advantages. Let's take a closer look at the features of this variety.

  • Bunch growth of tomatoes. Regular medium to large sized tomatoes produce single fruits. Their maturation is not always characterized by simultaneity. Black cherries grow in clusters and ripen at about the same time. All this ensures more convenient and faster harvesting.
  • Compactness of the fruit. The small and uniform size of the tomato allows it to be used for various purposes. Cherries are often canned because placing them in a jar is very convenient. The fruits are also not afraid of transportation, which makes them easy to transport for sale.
  • Compact roots. The plant's root system is small and does not have large branches. That is why many people grow cherry tomatoes at home on windowsills in flower pots. In open ground they also do not take up much space.
  • Beneficial features. This crop takes good care of the cardiovascular system and has powerful dietary properties.

Attention! Black varieties of cherry tomatoes prevent aging.

The fruits of this plant have many other beneficial properties. Below in the article they are all described in detail.

  • Not picky. Most tomatoes do not require any specific growing conditions or care rules. For them, observing general laws is enough. Which ones are discussed below.
  • Taste qualities. Compared to other varieties, this one has a strong taste. Why the taste of black tomato is so bright can be read in the last section.
  • Shelf life. Cherry tomatoes last about twice as long as regular varieties. They are denser in texture, which eliminates the appearance of cracks on the surface of the fruit. Thus, they are able to maintain their presentation for a long time without the use of any chemicals.

In addition to all this, the original color of this variety serves as an unusual decoration for any table. Let's look at the best types of tomatoes.

Planting region, ripening time and yield

In areas with a warm climate, in the south, black cherry tomatoes can be grown in open ground. In the middle zone it is planted both in open ground and in greenhouses, and in colder regions (Siberia) - only in protected ground. In principle, this variety tolerates minor temperature fluctuations well.

Black tomatoes delight gardeners with their high yield; with proper care, you can harvest about five kilograms of tomatoes from one bush. The fruits have an average ripening period: it occurs within 100-110 days from the moment the first shoots appear, however, in warm regions, the first harvest is harvested after 90 days.

Characteristics

Tomato variety Red Pearl has good cold resistance and shade tolerance. It tolerates prolonged cold spells well without harming the development of fruits and the plant as a whole. Can grow in shaded areas, such as balconies or verandas. In this case, the plant does not stretch, and its stem does not thin out.

Attention!

Like most tomatoes, the bush of the Red Pearl variety dies even at slightly below zero temperatures. Therefore, it requires temporary shelter when grown in open ground and timely transfer to the room when cultivated on balconies and verandas. Due to the small size of both the plant and the fruit in particular, it does not require thorough watering

In the absence of this, it can develop and bear fruit in only about a week and a half.

Due to the small size of both the plant and the fruit in particular, it does not require careful watering. In the absence of this, it can develop and bear fruit in only about a week and a half.

The Red Pearl tomato is an early ripening variety. Fruit ripening occurs 80-90 days after emergence. The first tomatoes at the stage of technical maturity can be obtained already in mid-June. The fruiting period is extended over time. Under favorable conditions, a tomato can bear fruit until mid-September.

It is worth noting that the yield of the Red Pearl tomato is above average compared to similar varieties. One square meter can produce up to 5 kilograms of cherry tomatoes. Despite the unpretentiousness of Red Pearl tomatoes, productivity is positively affected by:

  • growing in well-lit areas;
  • planting in areas with loose and fertile soils;
  • arrangement of supports, since up to 20 fruits can form on one branch.

Unfortunately, according to many vegetable growers, the Red Pearl tomato does not tolerate long-term storage and transportation. Its thin skin does not allow it to maintain an attractive appearance for a long time.

This tomato variety is almost universal in use. High taste qualities allow it to be used for preparing salads. Beautiful bright red fruits will serve as an excellent decoration for any dish.

The Red Pearl tomato variety is excellent for canning. Sweet cherry tomatoes will delight you during the long winter. The low dry matter content makes the tomato suitable for making freshly squeezed juices.

"Pros and cons"

The Red Pearl tomato variety was bred specifically for producing cherry tomatoes on private farms and for personal consumption. It is worth noting that the variety copes well with these tasks.

  • It has high yields with short ripening periods.
  • Compact, low-growing plants, not prone to pinching, do not take up much space.
  • The variety is universal in cultivation. Open ground, greenhouses, balconies and window sills - everywhere it shows good results.
  • It belongs to cold-resistant and drought-resistant varieties and has high immunity to diseases.
  • The fruits of the Red Pearl tomato have an attractive appearance.

Among the disadvantages, some gardeners note the poor keeping quality of fruits and the inability to transport them over long distances.

Growing seedlings and preparing the soil

Growing black cherry tomatoes, in fact, does not differ from the traditional agricultural technology of red representatives of this species. The plants sprout beautifully and amicably, they grow actively and quickly, however, they are certainly grown with the help of seedlings. This tomato variety is sown in the spring, in March or April. Use soil specially prepared for this purpose, previously loosened and abundantly moistened. It is poured into a box for planting.

The seeds should be placed at a depth of 4 millimeters, no more, they should be watered abundantly, and the box itself should be placed on a well-lit windowsill. Soon the first shoots will appear, sprouts with four leaves can already be picked into separate small glasses.

Preparing the land for planting

Tomatoes of this variety love not only a sunny place, but also a place protected from the winds. The soil should be fertile, well heated, drained, and loose. It is also necessary to ensure that the soil has a neutral or slightly acidic environment; tomatoes do not grow in acidic soil.

The soil is prepared in early autumn, it is dug up to 20 centimeters, after which fertilizers are added. For this work you need to choose a sunny, dry day. Immediately before planting the bushes, the soil is dug up two to three times, humus and mineral fertilizer are added. Immediately before planting, fertilizer is placed directly into the hole.

Benefit

All of the above black cherry tomatoes contain anthocyanin. This is indicated by their black and purple color. Anthocyanin is considered a very beneficial substance. It has the following properties:

  • bactericidal;
  • increasing immunity;
  • antioxidant.

The bactericidal effect of anthocyanin is to fight different types of bacteria or even viruses. It follows from this that black varieties of cherry tomatoes help to recover from some infectious and viral diseases.

Anthocyanin will be beneficial for the body at any time of the year, especially in the spring and autumn periods. During these seasons, human immunity is usually weakened.

They are recommended for use as food for both adults and children. You can enhance the healing effect with other products containing anthocyanin. Among them are all vegetables, fruits and berries, colored black or dark purple - eggplants, mulberries, beets and others.

Anthocyanin is the strongest antioxidant. In a short time it is able to remove all harmful substances from the body. By consuming various varieties of black cherry tomatoes, you protect your body from the penetration and development of cancer.

Anthocyanin is unique in its beneficial effect on vision. As it accumulates, it reliably strengthens the capillaries. The substance also promotes the outflow of fluid accumulated inside the eyeball. Many people eat black cherry tomatoes. As a result they have:

  • Excellent vision.
  • Rapid recovery of poor vision.
  • No eye fatigue from working at the computer.

In addition to their beneficial qualities, lovers of black cherry tomatoes note their unsurpassed taste. This is due to the presence of large amounts of sugar – glucose and fructose. These substances drown out all acids. Due to this, the taste of tomatoes improves and becomes brighter in comparison with the usual red varieties.

The article describes the varieties of black cherry tomatoes from different aspects. We studied the characteristics of this species, examined the best representatives of the crop, studied in detail the rules of its cultivation and became familiar with the beneficial properties.

Planting and growing, watering and fertilizing

In May (in the beginning or middle, depending on the climate), seedlings are planted in greenhouses and open ground. We must wait until the danger of spring frosts has finally passed. Before planting, the stem should reach about 30 centimeters and have about ten leaves.

Planting in open ground

Before planting, watering is stopped one day, but if the seedlings were grown in peat pots, then this is not necessary. Such a plant is planted in the ground along with peat, it will serve as fertilizer. You should follow a planting pattern in open ground of 50 by 50 centimeters, no more than three plants per square meter.

Do not forget that the bushes of this variety grow very large.

Features of care

The main task when growing black cherry tomatoes is to correctly form the bush itself, tie it up properly and remove the shoots in time. In greenhouses, these plants can grow tall; a bush up to two meters high is completely normal for this variety. At the same time, the plants produce many stepsons, which must be removed in a timely manner.

The bush should be formed into one or two stems; in the latter case, the second of the stems is formed from the stepson on the side, which was the strongest. In the event that there are an extremely large number of fruits, the stepsons should be removed without the slightest regret. Otherwise, it will harm the normal ripening of the fruit.

The bush must be tied up, otherwise it will break under the weight of its fruits or they will lie on the ground, causing them to crack. You need to choose one of the methods of tying to the trellises; this is better than a simple support. Tall tomato vines need reliable support.

Watering and fertilizing

Tomatoes, especially cherry tomatoes, require regular watering, although you should not turn the soil into a swamp either; do not forget about drainage. The following should be taken into account:

  • If you constantly neglect regular watering on a schedule, the fruits may crack.
  • If the plants do not develop well enough, you can water them with slurry or a solution of chicken manure two weeks after planting in the ground.

In the case of normal watering and after a little fertilizing, the harvest will be abundant and the fruits will be intact.

Pest Control

Black Cherry may be vulnerable to diseases such as viruses and fungi. If the plant is in a greenhouse, then you should regularly ventilate the room, removing damaged areas (if any).

In a greenhouse, this variety is highly susceptible to pests; it can be affected not only by aphids, but also by whiteflies. The fight against these pests comes down to the traditional use of various insecticides. It should be noted that this variety is, in principle, less susceptible to diseases and infections compared to other varieties of tomatoes.

Growing tomatoes

Growing this crop is absolutely not difficult. The rules are almost the same as with regular tomatoes.

Warning! This type of tomato is grown only from seedlings.

You can grow it yourself by planting the seeds in February in boxes with prepared soil.

When the sprouts get stronger, you can move them into the ground - greenhouse or open. When transplanting, pay attention to:

  • Planting time for the greenhouse is the beginning of May, for the garden is the end of May.
  • Distance, per square meter 4 bushes.
  • Formation, the best harvest will be from bushes with two stems.

Despite the fact that black tomatoes are not picky in their care, basic rules still need to be followed. Let's get to know them.

Pros and cons of the variety

The main advantage of Black Cherries is their high taste and impressive appearance. Also positive qualities are high yield and rapid ripening. The disadvantages are the need to constantly engage in the formation of the bush, as well as the tendency of the fruit to crack during the period of biological ripening due to the thin skin. This plant needs daily inspection and tying up.

In general, this variety of black tomatoes is really attractive to any gardener, and the point is not only that the fruits are tasty, aromatic and extremely healthy. An indeterminate plant, huge and spreading, strewn with black clusters, looks simply gorgeous and pleases the eye.

Diseases and pests

The Black Cherry tomato variety can be affected by any fungal and viral diseases characteristic of tomatoes. To avoid this, it is recommended to regularly ventilate the plantings, remove diseased parts of the bushes and treat them with Fitosporin.

In greenhouse cultivation, tomato is affected by whiteflies and aphids, in open ground - by spider mites. To combat these pests, use the complex insecticide Fufanon and folk remedies in the form of herbal bitter infusions of sticky traps.

Black Cherry is a tomato variety that can decorate a greenhouse, beds, balcony and even a holiday table. Unusual-looking small black cherry tomatoes are especially popular with children for their sweet taste.

Review of low-growing cherry tomatoes

So, it’s time to move on to a review of low-growing cherry tomatoes, or scientifically, determinate ones. These crops bring the earliest harvest. It is optimal to grow low-growing cherry tomatoes in open ground; only immediately after planting, the seedlings are covered with film to acclimatize them.

Cherry Blossam F1

The hybrid has a powerful bush structure and bears mature cherries in 100 days. A determinate plant can grow up to 1 m in height. For stability, the bush is fixed to a wooden peg. High yields can be achieved by forming 3 stems. Small, spherical red tomatoes weigh only 30 g. The flesh is dense and sweet. Thanks to the strong skin, the tomato does not crack during canning.

Basket on the window

The low-growing variety is intended for open cultivation. However, a small bush with a height of only 40 cm has made the crop popular for growing in a window. The variety is very early ripening; after 80 days, mature bunches of tomatoes can be harvested. The fruits ripen together, all at once. A maximum of 10 small tomatoes are tied in clusters. The weight of the vegetable is only 30 g. The tasty round fruits are famous for their decorative properties. A super-determinant bush does without pinching and fastening to a support.

Granddaughter

This delicious cherry tomato variety is capable of producing small fruits weighing 20 g, as well as larger specimens weighing up to 50 g. The bush grows no more than 50 cm in height and is capable of holding the harvest on its own without tying it to a support. The tomatoes are round, slightly flattened.

Cranberries in sugar

An early ripening decorative variety intended for any type of cultivation. A determinate plant does not need to be tied to a support. The spherical tomatoes of a rich red color are very small, weighing on average 20 g. The culture adapts to bad weather conditions.

Irishka

Varietal low-growing cherry will bring an early harvest of ripe tomatoes in 87 days. The plant grows to a maximum of 50 cm in height. Optimal planting in the garden. The advantage of the variety is its long fruiting, during which the plant produces small red tomatoes weighing 30 g.

Honey candy F1

The hybrid is considered a mid-early tomato with fruit ripening in 110 days. The open-air crop bears fruit well in the south. For the middle zone, planting under film is recommended. The plant grows up to 80 cm in height and is weakly overgrown with foliage. Up to 6 clusters with up to 28 small tomatoes are tied on the stem. The bush is formed with 2 or 3 stems and secured to a support. Plum-shaped cherry tomatoes weigh only 30 g. The dense, orange-colored fruits are delicious when pickled and preserved.

Coin

Standard culture refers to ultra-early tomatoes that ripen in 85 days. The bush does not require gartering or pinching. Round yellow tomatoes grow very small, weighing up to 15 g. The fruits form and ripen together before late blight spreads.

Button

An ornamental early variety of cherry tomatoes will bear the first harvest in 95 days. The low-growing bush grows to a maximum of 60 cm in height. The shape of the tomatoes resembles small cream. The fruits are smooth, dense, and do not crack. The weight of a mature vegetable reaches 40 g.

Children's F1

The standard low-growing crop yields a harvest in 85 days. The hybrid is grown in the garden, under cover and in the house. The bushes grow small, about 30 cm in height, sometimes they can stretch up to 50 cm. Elongated red tomatoes are tied in tassels of 10 pieces. The weight of 1 tomato is no more than 20 g. The culture adapts to heat, drought, and cool weather. With good care, you can take up to 7 kg of vegetables from 1 m2.

The video talks about cherry tomatoes:

Cocktail Cherry Tomatoes Tomato Tommy Toe

There is a danger of infection of Black cherry tomatoes with diseases, viruses, and fungi characteristic of nightshades.

The most common infection with phytosporosis is the loss of leaves. The cause of the disease is often high humidity. To avoid the problem, the bushes are treated with Fitosporin, and greenhouses with tomatoes are frequently ventilated.

You can cope with phytosporosis using the traditional method: whey is diluted with water in equal proportions and sprayed on tomato bushes. If the previous options did not have the desired effect, every 15 days the bushes are sprayed with a solution consisting of 1 tablet of Trichopolum per liter of water. Treat the beds with Bordeaux mixture or Mikosan.

The disease blossom end rot appears as darkening on the top of the bush. As a preventive measure, when planting seedlings, add a handful of wood ash and calcium nitrate to each hole - just take 1 tbsp. l. each substance. A lack of microelements and moisture in the soil is indicated by the process in which the foliage of tomato bushes curls.

Plants grown in greenhouse conditions can be affected by aphids and whiteflies, and in open beds bushes are eaten by spider mites. Tomato pests can be controlled by using ready-made insecticides Fufanon or Verticillin.

Tomato "Sweet Cherry"

I would rate the “Sweet Cherry” hybrid “5” for the sweetest candy taste and for its absolutely charming appearance.

Note! Last year we also planted the “Khorovod” cherry tomato variety in our garden. I can’t say for sure, but it seemed to us, based on the characteristic shape of the foliage, taste and shape of the fruit, that the hybrid “Sweet Cherry” is also sold under this name.

But even if we are wrong, and this is truly an independent variety, the Khorovod cherry also deserves the highest praise.

Tomato "Octopus Cherry"

“Octopus Cherry” is another hybrid with a self-explanatory name. While most indeterminate varieties of cherry tomatoes need to be formed into one or two trunks, this hybrid can have many fruiting branches, thereby resembling a multi-membered octopus.

Hybrid tomato "Octopus Cherry".

The leaf of this tomato is a little atypical - rich green, narrower and heavily jagged (jagged) at the edges. Regularly shaped brushes, as a rule, consist of 10-15 round, dense tomatoes. The color is bright red when ripe and pale green, almost white, when set.

The fruits are relatively large in size and weighing 35 grams are close to cocktail varieties. The taste of tomatoes is sweetish with a slight sourness, close to classic tomato.

A distinctive feature of the hybrid can also be called resistance to cracking and a long fresh shelf life. The berries also stay on the branch well, so you can cut off whole clusters after waiting for the last tomatoes to ripen.

The ripening period of the hybrid is average. Another name for the “Octopus Cherry” tomato is “Tomato Tree,” but this does not mean at all that the bushes do not need shaping at all. "Octopus Cherry" has an indomitable growth force, but the more trunks you leave, the more intensive nutrition the bush will need to receive. In this case, fruit ripening becomes significantly extended.

The “tomato tree” will feel best in a greenhouse; in this case, there is a chance to wait until the maximum number of fruits are ripe. On our site, the bush was grown in open ground and formed into 3 trunks. The harvest turned out to be rich, but not all the tomatoes managed to ripen before autumn.

We invite you to familiarize yourself with: The best varieties of tomatoes with photos and descriptions of 60 varieties

The hybrid tomato "Octopus Cherry", in my opinion, deserves "4" points. The rating has been reduced due to the need for too frequent pinching and the presence of noticeable sourness in the taste.

“Kiss of Geranium” is a very unusual variety. The fruits are medium in size for cherry tomatoes, ribbed with a clear spout at the end, so sharp that you can literally prick yourself on it. The color of the fruits is rich orange-red. The taste is excellent, classic tomato with a fruity aftertaste. Thanks to its dense pulp, the variety tolerates transportation well and is stored well.

Cherry tomato, variety “Geranium Kiss”.

When unripe, it may have dense greenish inclusions that distort the taste, so it is important to wait until the tomatoes are fully ripe. The cluster is abundant, loose - up to several dozen fruits; it makes sense to form it into one not very tall trunk with several clusters.

On our site, “Kiss of Geranium” was distinguished by high yield and increased resistance to fungal diseases. The tomato performed very well in pickling due to its size and characteristic shape with a spout; it was more convenient to eat than other varieties.

It is also worth noting that under this name there are two varieties of tomatoes, similar only in the characteristic shape of the fruit - elongated, with a very sharp nose. But otherwise these varieties are different. One of them is a classic tomato with compact bushes and fruits measuring 50 grams.

The other is of the cherry type, an indeterminate bush, the fruits are in large clusters and are small in size - up to 15 grams. We grew the second option in our garden. But which of them refers to the real “Geranium Kiss”, and which is the true name of the other, remains a mystery.

Our family had different opinions about the taste of the Geranium Kiss cherry tomato; lovers of classic tomatoes described it as very tasty, but to me the taste of the fruit did not seem particularly remarkable. But, in general, I think that the variety deserves a rating of “4” with a slight minus.

Tomato "Cherry Ira"

"Cherry Ira" is one of the most popular hybrids in recent years. The fruits of “Cherry Ira” are slightly elongated, when fully ripe they acquire a bright red color, the cluster is uniform, the average weight of the berry is 15 grams.

Hybrid tomato "Cherry Ira".

When I was just selecting candidates for planting next season among the tomatoes, there were conflicting reviews about the Cherry Ira tomatoes: some called them very sweet - “like candy,” and some gardeners noted disappointment in the taste of this tomato. Unfortunately, in my case, the Cherry Ira tomatoes also had a completely inexpressive taste.

Among their features, one can also note their elastic, fleshy pulp and dense peel. Therefore, I would classify this variety as more likely to be industrial. For me, too thick a skin of tomatoes is a negative quality that interrupts the main taste of the fruit, but some gardeners can consider this feature as positive.

Considering the not too bright taste, for homemade preparations I would recommend using the Cherry Ira hybrid not for pickling, but for pickling, since the decisive role in this case is given to the taste of the marinade, and not the sweetness of the tomatoes themselves. The dense flesh makes them suitable for making pizza and grilling.

In my opinion, the tomato hybrid “Cherry Ira” deserves only “3” points. The decisive factors for such a low rating for me were the bland, only slightly sweet taste and too thick skin. Another disadvantage I would also note is the high cost of seeds.

This tomato variety cannot be classified as a new product, since it was obtained by Russian breeders back in the early 90s. And in 1997 it was entered into the State Register as recommended for cultivation in open ground or greenhouses.

Cherry tomato, variety "Red Cherry".

The “Red Cherry” tomato clusters are very long and beautiful; with good care, one bunch can contain up to 35 tomatoes, but they ripen unevenly. The skin is very thin and the fruits do not tolerate transportation well and constantly crack from any external factors. While on the bush (rain, extreme heat, insufficient or too much watering), they turn sour and become completely unpleasant to the taste.

As for the taste qualities of this variety in general, our family did not appreciate “Red Cherry” at all. The taste of this variety is completely inexpressive, not sour, not sweet, but simply put, “nothing.”

The bushes of “Red Cherry” were distinguished by record yields; they produced beautiful, even, classic tassels consisting of bright, attractive tomatoes that seemed to be asking to be put into the mouth. But due to the presence of truly tasty varieties of cherry tomatoes in the beds, no one ate them here. The tomatoes stood untouched until the fall, “from head to toe” covered with a huge amount of fruit, to the envy of the neighbors, who often mistook them from a distance for some exotic flowers.

In our unanimous opinion, the tomato variety “Red Cherry” deserves a rating of no higher than “two”. But I won’t be so categorical, because, for sure, this variety also has many fans, so due to its high yield, I give this cherry a solid “3”.

Yellow cherry tomatoes are attractive and interesting not only to lovers of something unusual. Yellow-fruited varieties are famous for their high content of myocin, a substance that helps strengthen the walls of blood vessels and has antioxidant properties. In addition, the fruits contain a lot of carotene and B vitamins.

Yellow tomatoes are allowed to be consumed by people prone to allergic reactions and nursing mothers. Yellow-fruited varieties are also indicated for consumption by those who suffer from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, since tomatoes improve motility, and yellow tomatoes do not cause heartburn, unlike red ones.

“Honey Drop” is a long-known and beloved variety of yellow cherry tomatoes. The shape of the fruit is described as teardrop-shaped, but to me it looks more like a light bulb or a tiny pear with a delicious bright yellow color. Because of its attractive appearance, many gardeners grow “Honey Drop” as an ornamental plant.

Cherry tomato, variety “Honey Drop”.

The taste of the fruit can indeed be called very sweet, “honey”, but without the fruity notes characteristic of other cherry tomatoes. The plant produces large fruits when it forms 1-2 stems. The brushes are strong, classic, containing 8-16 bulb tomatoes.

Description of fruits

Cherry tomatoes are small in size: diameter is about 3 cm, and weight is usually less than 20 g. The pulp has a medium density of a cherry hue; when ripe, the shades of the upper skin present a black palette with a dark purple tint.

This color is formed due to the presence of a large amount of anthocyanin in the fruits - a substance that has a therapeutic effect against colds, has an antiviral effect and increases immunity. Regular consumption of these tomatoes improves vision. It has been observed that anthocyanin acts as a cancer prevention agent.

Each Cherry tomato fruit has 2 – 3 seed chambers. Up to 9 tomatoes can ripen simultaneously in one bunch.

The fruits must be collected when they reach biological ripeness. If tomatoes were harvested ahead of schedule, the fruits, which reached technical ripeness on the bush and only then went through the ripening process, have lower taste and fewer nutrients.

Black cherry tomatoes can be stored for quite a long period. They are pickled and preserved as pickles, and added to vegetable or fruit salads. Black cherries are used as decorations for ready-made dishes when serving. Tomatoes are dried and dried for the winter. If fresh tomatoes are moved to a room with a temperature of +5 to +8 degrees, they can be stored for 1 month.
