Lilac “Beauty of Moscow”: description, photo, planting and care

Lilac is one of the most beloved and desired plants in the garden. In the spring, when lilacs bloom, the air is filled with a magnificent aroma, and the inflorescences attract the eye with a variety of colors and shapes.

Parks and squares, alleys and boulevards of cities begin to attract citizens with a riot of colors and smells, and there is not a single person who would not stop for a minute, admiring the blossoming of lilacs. There are many types and varieties of this bush plant, but one of the most beloved is “Beauty of Moscow”.

White terry lilac - Beauty of Moscow: description, photo

Shrub, 3-4 meters high. The branches are very dense and directed upward, with many branches. The bush blooms very beautifully, with large rosettes with double flowers. The color of the rosettes is white and pink. The plant blooms very profusely and densely.

Gardeners simply adore this plant for its resistance to cold and disease. The only thing that the shrub does not tolerate well is excessive watering and clay soil where water stagnates.

Lilac Beauty of Moscow and others

Help me with advice on what to do with lilacs. Bought as the Beauty of Moscow about 8 years ago, the small byl has been blooming for several years, but only on one side, the rest remained without flowers. Since this flowering side is directly facing the path, this did not upset me much, I thought maybe it was dark for her, maybe she was being capricious. In the same year, the lilac, which over the years had grown into a huge bush, suddenly bloomed with ordinary white clusters with small flowers. And all that was left of the beauty were two branches with a dozen tassels, which were completely lost in the heap of white ones. It turns out that all these years I have been growing mainly the rootstock. What's the best thing to do now? Cut out the entire rootstock, leaving two KM branches, or leave the multi-colored bush as is. If cut out, will this creature ever become decorative? If left, will the rootstock completely choke the varietal branches? It’s a shame that the place was given to it in the center; I have white and non-white regular lilacs 20 meters along the fence, I wanted some zest.

He will definitely score. Usually they warn you when purchasing that it is merciless to cut off anything unnecessary. I have a sad experience. It's not too late to cut out everything unnecessary. And then watch. Since this variety is no longer rare, buy a baby (preferably rooted) to be on the safe side. It will grow in the corner.
