One of these varieties is the relatively new tomato Miracle of the Earth, which bears fruit with huge raspberry-colored tomatoes. Description and characteristics of the variety
The Miracle of the Earth tomato appeared in Novosibirsk. The authorship belongs to Postnikov and Dederko. The variety has become a champion in many respects at the same time:
- productivity;
- weight;
- excellent taste.
The Ukrainian Miracle of the Earth tomato has a characteristic shape resembling a heart.
What features are characteristic of fruits:
- average weight 400 g;
- the greatest weight reaches 800 g;
- record holders weigh 1 kg or more;
- moderate ribbing;
- bright crimson color;
- the flesh is fleshy, sugary at the break;
- 6 seed chambers, few seeds;
- sweet notes predominate in the taste;
- sugar levels vary between 4.8-5%;
- dry matter 5-6%.
Tomato Miracle of the Earth “Siberian Garden” is the most famous and reliable producer. The variety was included in the register more than ten years ago, back in 2006.
The bushes are strong and tall. The cultivar is an indeterminate, that is, it has a tendency to excessive vegetation. What are the signs of plants:
- trunk height 1.8-2 m;
- semi-spreading;
- the characteristic fruiting clusters are branched, which is rare in large-fruited varieties;
- Up to 5-6 giant tomatoes can ripen on a bunch at the same time;

The variety does not belong to hybrid lines. You can safely harvest and grow new crops from your own seeds.
Delivery of ripe tomatoes begins after 120 days. The variety is classified as mid-season. Fruiting lasts until autumn frosts.
Growing areas
Tomato is recommended for planting in various regions. Shows good tying and productivity everywhere. Planted:
- in Siberia, the Far Eastern region under heated film;
- in temperate latitudes in greenhouse shelters;
- in the south - in Crimea, Astrakhan, Krasnodar in open beds.
Features of cultivation
Tomato Miracle of the Earth can grow both in open and closed ground. In the southern regions it can be sown immediately in a permanent place, but in zones with a temperate climate it is worth making seedlings in advance. Seeds for seedlings are sown approximately 2-2.5 months before transplanting the plants into the ground. Caring for seedlings is carried out as usual: watering, fertilizing, picking if the plants grow in one large pot. After 2 months, you can transplant to a permanent place.
Planting the Miracle of the Earth tomato is done sparingly. On average, 3 plants can be placed per square meter of land if they are formed into 2 stems, or 4 plants if the formation is carried out into 1 stem.
- A garter for the Miracle of the Earth variety is mandatory. The bushes can grow up to 2 meters, so if they are not tied up, it will be difficult to care for them, and even simply harvest them! Untied bushes will literally creep along the ground.
- The formation of a bush is done in 1-2 stems. If 1 stem is formed, then all the stepsons need to be removed, and if you want to get 2 stems, then the stepson is left only under the first flower brush. For this variety, pinching is mandatory, otherwise you may simply not get a harvest.
- Watering should be carried out as needed. Dry soil under the bushes can damage the root system, slow growth, and reduce yield. Ideally, you should use a drip irrigation system, but you can also water simply from a watering can or in another convenient way.

Important!
Water tomatoes only in the early morning or evening, when the sun is setting. If you water during the day (especially irrigation) in the heat, burns will appear on the leaves. But on a cloudy day, you can water the plants at any time.
- It is highly recommended to carry out hilling 3-4 times per season, so that a kind of hill is formed around the bushes.
- Weeds are pulled out by the roots as they appear. It is better to start this procedure in early spring, even before the weeds bloom, then every year there will be fewer and fewer of them.
- Fertilizing is carried out with complex mineral fertilizers. Certain minerals are used at different times of the year. In the spring, you should give preference to nitrogen substances (Urea, for example), and in the summer - potassium-phosphorus substances (Superphosphate, Agricola). Organic fertilizers can include humus solutions, infusions of green herbs or wood ash.
- To reduce the likelihood of diseases, it is worth treating the Miracle of the Earth tomato from infections, fungi and pests 2-3 times per season. To do this, you can use folk recipes or fungicides and insecticides.
When growing in a greenhouse, in addition to all the care standards described above, you need to pay attention to 3 more important points.
- The room temperature is maintained at +27…+30 degrees.
- Air humidity – 55-60%. Otherwise, tomatoes may become infected with late blight.
- Pollination is carried out manually.
Sowing and growing seedlings
Sowing dates are determined by counting back 60-70 days from the intended planting in a garden bed or greenhouse. For open ground, sow in mid-March , for closed ground - at the end of February . These are the dates for the climate of the Middle Zone.
Your own seed material does not need to stimulate germination. The seedlings will pop up quickly anyway (especially if the temperature is not lower than +25 degrees).
The fullest seeds are selected for sowing . The puny ones are rejected (visually). It is recommended to carry out procedures for disinfecting seeds from pathogens (there are many recipes: potassium permanganate, peroxide, hot water, store-bought preparations).
Seedling containers must have drainage holes. The soil is light, with a quick drainage of excess moisture.
The variety is prone to elongation of seedlings (in shading and high temperatures). If it is difficult to create optimal conditions, you can resort to the help of the drug Atlet. It will restrain the growth of the stem by redistributing nutrition to the roots.

To get healthy plants, it is necessary to prevent diseases. The tomato variety is quite resistant to common pathogens. Nevertheless, the soil should not be allowed to become waterlogged and it is advisable to choose the right neighbors for tomatoes.
If infection does occur, measures should be taken immediately:
- areas of plants affected by the tobacco mosaic virus must be destroyed, and the sections must be treated with a solution of potassium permanganate or crushed coal;
- to treat cladosporiosis, tomatoes are treated with copper oxychloride or a mixture of water, milk and iodine in a ratio of 5 l: 0.5 l: 15 drops;
- when attacked by greenhouse whitefly, the drug Confidor, diluted 1:10, will help;
- slugs and ticks are repelled by hot pepper solutions.

Watering
Growing tomatoes should be accompanied by regular watering. The bushes need to be watered several times a week. To better absorb the liquid into the soil, you can use the drip irrigation method. One young bush consumes a liter of water, and an adult one – 2-3 liters.
Garter
Quite often, tomato bushes break due to strong winds. To prevent this from happening, they need to be tied up. To do this, a peg 60-70 cm high is installed near each bush, to which the tomatoes will be tied.
Top dressing
You can fertilize tomatoes a few weeks after planting the seedlings. For this purpose, mineral fertilizers are used: superphosphate, mullein, potassium salt, saltpeter.
