History of the variety's creation
The hybrid Beam Splendor was bred by Ural breeders. When developing a new variety, experts sought to create a plant that would have high productivity, resistance to low temperatures and diseases, and unpretentiousness.
And all these qualities were combined in the hybrid “Beam Splendor”. The variety was bred at the beginning of this century and was introduced to vegetable growers in 2013.
The Tufted Splendor cucumber is recommended for cultivation in most Russian regions, and it can grow in open ground even in the northern regions.
Cucumber Beam splendor F1: variety description
This variety of cucumbers is distinguished by the formation of a huge number of ovaries, collected in bunches, as well as unlimited growth power of shoots. As a result, vegetable growers have to pinch the top of the central shoot at a certain height so that the plant actively forms lateral branches - it is on them that the next wave of harvest will form in the future.
Shoots of the cucumber variety Beam Splendor stop growing at a height of 1.9-2.0 m
, they are quite thick, quite powerful and well leafy. The foliage is medium in size, five-lobed, with clearly visible veins, without gloss, a rich salad color.

Cucumber Tufted splendor - parthenocarpic type,
flowers do not require pollination by insects; ovaries are formed on all flowers. This quality is especially important when growing this vegetable crop in greenhouses, film greenhouses or on a windowsill in an apartment. The period of ripening of the fruits of the Beam Splendor cucumber is early - from the moment of germination of the seed material to the harvest of the first harvest of ripe fruits, 28-30 days pass.
Important!
The Tufted Splendor cucumber is a hybrid, self-pollinating variety, therefore it has a number of valuable qualities - high yield, disease resistance, resistance to stressful situations.

However, it will not be possible to collect seed material from such plants, since in cucumbers of this type the seeds are usually in their infancy. Therefore, vegetable growers have to purchase them annually from specialized stores.
This cucumber variety has the following developmental feature:
when a large crop ripens on the central stem, the growth of lateral branches is restrained.
Therefore, the vines begin to actively branch only after the first wave of ripe cucumbers is collected. The flowering of this cucumber variety is bouquet, and up to 5-6 ovaries can form in each node.
The shape of ripe greens is regular cylindrical, slightly tapering towards the top. Beam splendor cucumbers are gherkin-type, up to 11 cm long and weighing about 80 g.
The skin is thin, quite dense, with a characteristic crunch, many small tubercles and light spines. Its color is soft emerald, with longitudinal light stripes.
The pulp is firm, tender, with a pleasant sweetish taste. There is no bitterness in cucumbers of this variety at the genetic level. The greens remain crispy and tasty even after heat treatment.
Features of hybrid agricultural technology
Seedlings are a reliable way to grow a cucumber. Stick to the deadlines suggested by the originator. When sowing directly into a garden bed, wait until the soil warms up to at least +15 °C. For 1 sq. m, plant no more than 2 bushes. This cucumber should be formed strictly into 1 stem.

Advice. After harvesting the first wave of harvest from the main vine, feed the plant with nitrogen fertilizer. This will give him strength for the second stage of fruiting.
Productivity of cucumber variety Beam splendor
This cucumber hybrid is classified as a super bunch variety.
– from one bush of Tufted Splendor, up to 400 gherkins are collected per season if the plants are properly formed. And if you convert it into kilograms, then the yield of the Tufted Splendor cucumber is at least 32 kg from each bush.

Reviews from gardeners about the hybrid Beam Splendor
With Puchkov's splendor I did it the old/new way. On each stepson he left not two, but one leaf. Bunches of cucumbers are formed precisely on this stepson. We eat, my wife doesn’t add enough salt, she’ll add more salt later. I carry fresh ones by the bucketful to my colleagues at work. Next year I will plant 5-6 bushes, as usual.

This is the second year I have been planting Tufted Splendor. I have cucumbers in the greenhouse - in the center in one row in a checkerboard pattern. On 6 meters of length - 15 pieces. I'm already tired of picking cucumbers this week. I pickled it, apparently I need to start selling it. There is only one drawback - they need to be collected every day. But I live in a house. Well, I cut them often, often. I really like the variety in terms of yield.

Honestly, this variety is complete nonsense. They grow in bunches - yes, but the taste is so-so. There are no bunches, as in the picture, about three of them from the bosom. I didn’t like the taste at all, it was kind of bland. Next year I will not plant Tufted Splendor.

I bought cucumber seeds Beam Splendor from. They write there: 400 cucumbers per bush and a super-tufted ovary. Pot-bellied, tasteless barrels grew. For 5 seeds - 100 rubles.

The variety is truly incomparable. I ordered five varieties by mail: Beam Splendor, Mels, RMT, Siberian Garland, Everyone's Envy. The package says that you need to plant two plants per meter. My greenhouse is only 4 meters long. I thought: what is this, planting only 8 pieces? I planted ten. I’ll say right away that this is too much. It was necessary to plant according to the instructions. The power of growth is incredible. I couldn’t do everything according to the rules - my health failed. Nevertheless, the harvest was amazing. I collected a bucket basket from one plant. I didn’t know what to do with the cucumbers, so I distributed them to all my friends and neighbors. The formation of greens lasted the whole season, until frost. I have never had such a harvest. I recommend these varieties to everyone. One basket of cucumbers pays for all the costs of seeds.
Application area
Collected gherkins have a universal purpose - they can be eaten fresh, added to vegetable salads or snacks. Pickled or salted gherkins and pickles of the “Puchkovoe splendor” variety are especially tasty - they do not lose their pleasant taste, remain crispy and hard even after heat treatment, and voids do not form inside.
Feeding cucumbers!
Feeding cucumbers with folk remedies in open ground
Diseases and pests
The hybrid “Beam Splendor” has a high level of immunity to common cucumber diseases at the genetic level.
These cucumbers are almost never damaged:
- cladosporiosis;
- powdery mildew;
- cucumber mosaic;
- peronosporosis.
Sometimes aphids or spider mites may appear on the cucumber lashes of this hybrid. They are fought with the help of folk remedies - they wash the foliage with a soap solution or infusion of garlic (or red pepper). If the colony of these insects is large, then you have to treat the cucumber vines with solutions of appropriate insecticides.
Advantages of the variety
The main advantages of the cucumber hybrid Beam Splendor include:
- early ripening of greens;
- fruiting is extended over time - the bunched splendor cucumber crops are harvested from mid-June to the second ten days of October;
- the yield of the hybrid is higher than the average of other varieties of this vegetable crop;
- excellent taste of cucumber Bunch splendor and commercial qualities - gherkins are devoid of bitterness, no voids are formed in them, greens tolerate heat treatments well;
- resistance to sharp drops in temperature, so this hybrid can be grown in Siberia and the Urals;
- bunched splendor cucumbers do not require pollination by bees, so they bear fruit well in greenhouses;
- high resistance to most diseases characteristic of other varieties of cucumbers.
Among the disadvantages, it should be noted the need to constantly collect ripe fruits, otherwise new ovaries will not form.
It should also be remembered that from this hybrid it will not be possible to collect seed material for further planting, so seeds have to be purchased annually. Many vegetable growers also note their high cost - 5 pieces cost at least 90 rubles.
Positive qualities and disadvantages of the variety
Beam splendor cucumbers have a considerable number of advantages, but this does not eliminate them from some disadvantages, so when choosing a variety you should take into account all its pros and cons.
- In this case, the list of first characteristics includes the following:
- high self-pollination;
- good taste of fruits;
- excellent resistance to sudden temperature changes and other adverse environmental factors;
- frost resistance and the ability to withstand short temperature drops;
- possibility of growing in regions with frequent fogs;
- fruiting is extended over time, which makes it possible to provide the family with fresh herbs for a long time;
- abundance of harvest;
- early fruit ripening.
As for the shortcomings, the most noticeable are the relatively high demands on planting care and the high cost of planting material, which often becomes the main reason for abandoning the variety and searching for a more acceptable option for planting.
Cucumbers Beam splendor: planting and growing
Although this variety is considered quite unpretentious, its yield directly depends on the correctly selected planting area, soil fertility and care of plants during the season.
Site selection
The area for planting the cucumber hybrid Beam Splendor should be well illuminated by the sun's rays and protected from strong gusts of wind. Also, this area should not be shaded by fruit trees growing too close.
The soil should be loose and nutritious (loam is best), with a neutral or slightly acidic reaction. If the soil is depleted, then compost or humus is added to it for autumn digging - at least 7-8 kg in each square.
Important!
The basic rules of crop rotation should be observed. You cannot plant cucumbers in an area where potatoes, zucchini, melons, and herbs (rhubarb, thyme or coriander) grew last year.
And the best neighbors for the vegetable crop of cucumbers are radishes and green onions. And the best predecessors for cucumbers are carrots or tomatoes.
It is also good to grow corn or sunflowers next to the cucumber.
. These tall plants will provide good support for cucumber vines, protect the plants from strong wind gusts, and the dark leaves will attract the hot rays of the sun.
Planting seeds
The cucumber variety Beam Splendor can be planted directly into the beds. But to obtain earlier production, it is advisable to grow the variety in seedlings.
Since this variety is early ripening, there is no need to rush into sowing seeds, otherwise the seedlings will outgrow. Such seedlings, when transplanted to a permanent place, will be sick for a long time, do not take root well in the beds, so their fruiting will occur later than that of cucumber seeds planted immediately in open ground.
When to plant cucumber Beam splendor for seedlings?
The cucumber variety Beam Splendor should be planted in early May, given that strong, healthy seedlings are planted in a permanent place 20-25 days after germination.
Soil for planting cucumber seedlings is purchased in specialized stores. But you can prepare it at home.
To do this, you need to mix the following components in equal parts:
- turf;
- leaf soil;
- high peat;
- coarse river sand;
- humus;
- wood ash.

Such a nutrient substrate requires disinfection, because insect pests or pathogenic microorganisms can hide in its ingredients for the winter. Therefore, soil prepared at home is spilled with a pink solution of potassium permanganate.
Cucumber seedlings have very delicate roots, so the plants do not tolerate frequent transplants
. Because of this, the seeds of the Beam Splendor cucumbers should be planted immediately in separate containers, so as not to carry out the picking procedure in the future.
The seeds are slightly buried in moist soil, watered on top again and covered with a layer of film. All containers are placed in a warm, bright room for germination.
On a note!
Typically, Tufted Splendor cucumber seeds germinate in about a week, and their germination rate is about 100%.
Further care of seedlings
The film is removed from the containers after the sprouts appear, and the containers are moved to a brighter place.
In the future, you need to water the Tufted Splendor cucumber seedlings every few days, and you need to make sure that the moisture in the containers does not stagnate.
When the plants have a pair of permanent leaves, they need to be fed
. To do this, you can use urea or mullein solution diluted in a ratio of 1:10. In total, a couple of feedings are carried out with an interval of 12-14 days.
A couple of weeks before planting the seedlings in a permanent place, they need to be hardened off by taking them outside first for a couple of hours, but gradually the time the cucumber seedlings spend in the fresh air is increased.
Growing stages
The given bunch variety of cucumbers is early ripening, its fruits ripen in 45-50 days from the day the seeds are sown in the ground. In order to bring the harvest as close as possible, the seeds are germinated before sowing.
Seed germination
Before germinating cucumber seeds, they must be disinfected. Harmful microorganisms can be removed from the surface of the seed using a manganese or saline solution by short soaking (seeds are placed in the solution for 20-30 minutes).
After processing, cucumber seeds are ready for germination. To do this, they are laid out between two pieces of damp cloth, the nursery is placed in a plastic bag and left in a warm place (ideal temperature 270C). After 2-3 days, sprouts can be observed on the seeds.
Sowing seeds for seedlings
To sow seeds for seedlings, it is better to use peat pots or peat tablets. There will be no need to remove the plant from them, since peat decomposes well in the ground and serves as a fertilizer. In the absence of special containers, small containers can be used to grow cucumber seedlings.
The prepared containers must be filled with soil. To do this, you can use a ready-made soil mixture or make it yourself. The composition of the soil for growing cucumber seedlings should include: soil, humus, mineral fertilizers, lime.
In containers filled with soil, the seeds of the “Beam Splendor f1” cucumber are planted 1-2 cm deep, after which they are watered generously with warm boiled water and covered with protective glass or film. The seedlings are placed in a warm place until they emerge. At the first appearance of cotyledon leaves, the containers are freed from the protective film (glass) and placed in a lighted place with a temperature of 22-23 0C.
Caring for seedlings involves regular watering and spraying. When two full leaves appear, the cucumber can be planted in the ground.
Important! The variety “Beam splendor f1” can be sown in the ground directly from seed, without first growing seedlings. In this case, the fruiting period will begin 2 weeks later.
Planting seedlings in the ground
To pick seedlings, you need to make holes and moisten them in advance. Cucumbers in peat containers are immersed in the ground along with them. The plant is removed from other containers while maintaining the earthen lump on the root. After placing the root system in the hole, it is covered with earth and compacted.
Important! It is best to plant cucumber seedlings in the evening, after sunset.
It is necessary to plant cucumbers of the “Puchkovoe splendor f1” variety with a frequency of no more than 2 bushes per 1 m2 of soil. After diving into the ground, the cucumbers must be watered daily; subsequently, the plants are watered as needed once a day or once every 2 days.
Bush formation
“Bunch splendor f1” is a vigorously growing crop, so it must be formed into one stem. This will improve lighting and nutrition of the ovaries. Forming a cucumber of this variety involves two steps:
- starting from the root, in the first 3-4 axils, side shoots and emerging ovaries should be removed;
- all side shoots located on the main vine are removed during the entire growth of the plant.
You can see the process of forming cucumbers into one stem in the video:
Feeding an adult plant, harvesting
It is recommended to fertilize an adult cucumber with nitrogen-containing and mineral fertilizers. They are applied every 2 weeks until the end of the fruiting period. The first complementary feeding must be done at the initial stage of ovary formation. Applying fertilizers after harvesting the first harvest will promote the formation of new ovaries in the “spent” sinuses. Each application of fertilizers should be accompanied by abundant watering.
Timely harvesting of ripe cucumbers allows you to accelerate the ripening of younger fruits, thereby increasing the yield of the plant. So, picking cucumbers should be done at least once every 2 days.
“Puchkovoe splendor f1” is a unique variety of cucumbers that is capable of producing a huge harvest with an amazing vegetable taste. It is adapted to harsh climatic conditions and allows residents of Siberia and the Urals to enjoy amazing harvests. By following the simple rules for forming a bush and providing regular fertilizing, even a novice gardener will be able to get a huge harvest of cucumbers of this variety.
Cucumber Beam splendor: further care
Further care for bunch cucumbers consists of observing the watering regime, forming the stems and tying them, and applying fertilizing.
Irrigation regime
Cucumber plantings always require regular, fairly abundant watering - the soil in these beds must be constantly moist (but without stagnant moisture!). Before watering, the water is left to settle, and it is heated by the rays of the sun. Cold water provokes the development of root rot in plants, as well as massive shedding of ovaries.
Important!
Cucumbers are especially sensitive to the temperature of water for irrigation; cold water should not be used under any circumstances!
During the rainy season, you can not water the cucumbers to prevent excessive soil moisture.
Formation of lashes
Hybrid cucumbers of the Beam Splendor variety are distinguished by the active growth of side shoots, while the plants thicken and lack light and nutrients. As a result, the ovaries form worse, and the greens ripen more slowly.
Photo of the pattern of lash formation
Therefore, usually the lashes of the Beam Splendor cucumber variety are formed into one shoot, which is then pinched at a height of 2 m. Before this, all side shoots are removed. And after the pinching procedure, several of the developing side stems are left, on which the next crop will be formed in the future.
Also, growing cucumbers require garters to strong supports.
In greenhouse conditions, they are tied to trellises, and in garden beds a special mesh with large cells is stretched.
How to shape cucumbers - video
Loosening and weeding
The soil in the root zone should be loosened periodically to break up the dry crust that forms after watering or rain.
At the same time, it is necessary to remove all weeds that appear in the beds and between the rows.
Feeding cucumber bushes
To get good harvests throughout the season, you need to regularly fertilize the soil.
Root feeding is usually applied after watering or good rain. 12-14 days after transplanting cucumber seedlings, ammophoska is added to the soil, embedding it in the ground. You can also water with the following solution - dissolve 1 tbsp in a bucket of water. l. urea and 3 tablespoons of superphosphate.
From the beginning of budding, cucumber lashes of the Puchkovoe Splendor variety are fed with nitrophoska, diluting 40 g of the drug in a bucket of water.
During the formation of ovaries, once a week the plants are fed with potassium nitrate. To do this, dissolve 2 tbsp. l. drug in a bucket of water.
Cucumber Beam splendor F1: reviews from those who planted
Vegetable growers leave mostly positive reviews about Beam Splendor cucumbers; many note its high yield and excellent taste.
Svetlana, 45 years old, Moscow region: I grow cucumbers in my greenhouse specifically for sale, so I choose the most productive varieties - with early and medium fruit ripening. I have been growing the hybrid Beam Splendor for two seasons now. I can fit no more than 15 plants per 6 m2. I harvest so much from them that there is enough not only for sale, but also for food and for spinning.
Olga, 50 years old, Tambov: I planted this variety in seedlings, then transplanted it into a greenhouse. The seedlings grow quickly; after 20 days they can be transplanted into a greenhouse from cups. The Tufted Splendor cucumber does not require special care - you just need to water it, feed it and tie it up on time. I also remove excess side shoots so that the fruits ripen faster. I collect greens not only at the gherkin stage, but also at the pickle stage. I marinate the pickles and add salt - they turn out crispy and very tasty.
Tatyana, 40 years old, Samara region: I grow several varieties of early cucumbers in my garden, of which I like the varieties Claudia, Masha and Puchkovoe splendor the most. However, Tufted Splendor bears the best fruit. And its fruits are the most delicious. The yield is simply excellent, I recommend these cucumbers to everyone!

Vera, 43 years old. I first tried to plant bunched splendor 3 years ago.
First I grew seedlings, then replanted them, and last year I decided to go straight into the ground. The result was impressive - indeed, the yield is the same as with the seedling method of cultivation, the fruits are elastic, the bushes are strong. These cucumbers are used for canning; I lightly salt them. And how delicious the salads are! But I’m especially pleased with the amount of harvest. Now there is only this variety of cucumber in my beds. ★★★★★
Victor, 37 years old. I have been growing Tufted Splendor for a long time.
I always use peat pots for planting seeds - it’s more convenient to transplant seedlings. But I take quite a few of them, since the root system is quite powerful. I tried planting without seedlings. Yes, the result is not bad, but I start picking cucumbers a couple of weeks later. I make sure to disinfect the seeds in potassium permanganate and add copper sulfate to the soil. During growth after transplanting to a permanent place, I also fertilize it. I use minerals and organics. Maybe that’s why my plants never get sick. The taste of the fruit is quite sweet, the pulp is juicy, and the seeds are small. For preservation I pick gherkins (usually 8-9 cm in size), the cucumbers turn out crispy. Hide
