Immediately with the onset of the swarming period, small boxes with honeycombs for the larvae of future queens begin to appear in the hives. Royal jelly is stored in these boxes. It is not difficult to assemble it - you just need to clean the honey frames from these honeycombs and extract the finished product from them. All operations with packaging jelly should take no more than an hour and a half - from prolonged contact with air, the substance begins to lose its beneficial properties.
For specialized collection of royal jelly, special frames with partitions are made, on which small glass barrels (uterus) are installed. Bees pour about 0.3 mg of the substance into such a barrel, place the larva in it and close the uterus with a wax stopper. When all the barrels are filled, the queen frames are removed from the hive and the substance from them is packaged into sterile syringes.
You can store it either in the form of an alcohol tincture, stirred in honey, or in its pure form in a glass container at a temperature not exceeding -18. When frozen, royal jelly can retain its beneficial qualities for up to two years.
